(no subject)

I woke up feeling kind of crappy physically but pretty good emotionally. I was a little anxious, but I knew I could work it out. I went to Sheetz to grab some breakfast. My sinuses had been a little bloody, and I knew I needed to moisten them with some saline. When I blew my nose, I felt what I'll describe as a "liquid explosion" followed by extreme pain in my right ear. I immediately panicked and jumped out of my car thinking that I had ruptured my eardrum. I calmed myself down enough to realize that I still had my hearing; so, my eardrum was intact. I called the doctor, and they were able to get me in almost immediately. I described the problems I had been having with congested ears, told her that I had a sinus infection for three months and that I still had some problems with my sinuses. She looked at my left ear, which was only slightly blocked, and said nothing. She looked at my right ear and jumped back and said, "Ohhh! Yeah...you've got an ear infection." She said it was bad. I said, "really?" She said, "Wellllll, kind of. Your eardrum is red and bludging." She told me that the explosion was the pressure in my head equalizing. My ear canals are not infected. I'm on Amoxillician 875 mg, two times a day for seven days.

It is interesting that the week after I talked to my therapist about knowing when something is really wrong with me that this happened. Because, had my body not told me by the mini explosion, I would have probably just continued to ignore my ear infection. I had already suspected that that is what it was. Earache, ear congestion, dizziness, altered perception, some nausea.

[not Meningitis, Katrina. You are not vomiting, you don't have stiff neck, you don't have a fever, you don't have light and sound sensitivity and you haven't been having your typical headaches.]

I'll be glad when I am no longer sick. I haven't been well in almost five months.

sickness, doctors visit, health
