The Happy Entry OR Meet Darcy.

I had first aspired for a little dog a while back. In August, I stayed with oneboyarmy, and his roommate Bryan has this wonderfully well-behaved chihuahua named Princess. I didn't used to like them, but she changed my mind. I decided then that I really needed a lap dog.

My aunt and uncle got a little shih tzu this year, and he is such a little sweetie. I thought that maybe I would like to have a small dog. I tried to get a rescue shih tzu from the same litter, but it fell through. My uncle told me I could have a puppy from the next litter, but that litter hasn't even been conceived yet.

My mom mentioned to me a few weeks ago that someone had asked my cousin if she wanted a teacup chihuahua. I told them to tell the lady I was interested. Turns out, she had already given the puppy away by the time I spoke up. My cousin asked me if I wanted a teacup chi-pom. I was going to pick her up last week, but the lady who had her was hospitalized with a virus and the husband works until midnight. I waited to hear back, and when I did, I found out that the dog is sick, too. So, my cousin asked me if I wanted a 2-year-old chihuahua. We talked it over, and she arranged for me to either take her or for them to find me something smaller and younger.

Yesterday morning, my cousin's daughter called me and asked me if I wanted a pomeranian. She is 11 months old, already vaccinated, spayed and housebroken. I agreed, and she said I could have her in the evening. When she got her, it turns out that she's a chi-pom, not a teacup as I originally sought, but small nonetheless. I met her, and I fell in love.

Ophelia thinks she's another cat. Mikey is wary of her because she growled, snarls and snapped at him when they first met. This morning, she acted as if none of that ever happened. I am so happy to have her in my life.

darcy the puppy, happy times
