All the autism teachers here say that is the way to go. Get them on the computer.
Conor actually responds better to directions given by a computer voice than a human voice. At 3 he can install and load a computer game on his own. But interact with people other than me and his dad. No way. Ain't gonna happen.

Taylor LOVES the computer! They use it in school as well. The problem is, I use my computer for work as well so, I have to be careful on letting the kids use it. I am having probs with my digital camera transfers now cuz of kids! ARGHHHH!
Taylor has just begun (maybe 10 months ago) pretend play with dolls and such. I am encouraging that now. She never did things like that. So, I have pulled everything out that has 'a face' and she puts them all down in front of her. You can see she is 'silently' having them talk to each other. She must be thinking it but, they look at each other, she looks back and forth as if listening to their conversations!
It is nice to see her do that!
Watch out for Conor. He might just take over and become the next Bill Gates!
You are just to funny:O) That's great about the kids are reading. How wonderful.:O)I am glad you got some rest. I feel the same way when I sleep like that. It drives me nuts when I can't snap out of it.
Re: News shows are getting ridiculous!placid_chaosMarch 31 2003, 05:22:55 UTC
How is it that, all of these reporters can be in the same place, watching the same thing but reporting different versions? I get so confused!
I do watch Fox News all day--only because it is night time over there and that is when they do most of the bombing. I know that sounds terrible but, I really would like every raping, killing jerk that did those horrible things to women and children to fly right on top of a mushroom cloud! (I had some neighbors that told me stories that just horrified me about Hussein's military leaders).
When it comes to kids, I lose it and have no mercy, can you tell?
;)
At night, I want to watch drama--fake drama that always has a determined outcome and fantasy lives--it sure beats real life sometimes. Especially lately! :-O

I never watch Sunday night TV but, I couldn't get away from some show on NBC last night--Boomtown. Maybe it was a reminder of my child-time fantasy of Rex Trailer (I don't know if you had him around there--I think it was a local show here).
So much for getting up early and getting things done though. I woke up to snow, it is snowing again and I don't want to do a damn thing again today either!!!!!!!
Okay, so I'm sitting here in the dark, reading the part about your hauntings, when my case to my keyboards (which is leaning up against the wall next to me) starts moving and sliding down by itself...
Well, suprise my heart DOES work! Although for the moment it's leaped out my chest LOL
(It was just one of those really wierd "perfect timing" things...)
Re: Hauntings...placid_chaosMarch 31 2003, 05:26:57 UTC
I am so used to it! I swear that, my mother moved over here on the day of her death. I am not kidding.
I have had some freaky things happen on her birthday, or on the day that she died. One time, I was going out to a craft place on her birthday. My mother was the craft-shop QUEEN! Well, her picture flew off the wall. The car wouldn't start but when AAA came, nothing was wrong with it. She had this Emmett Kelley collection that I had on a shelf--they fell off the shelf and broke into a million pieces, but nothing else on the shelf fell!
Let's just say that, on her birthday I don't go to craft shops. The last thing I will do is piss off a woman that took her bad temper to the afterlife! LOL
On her second year anniversary of her death, the grandfather clock of hers stopped at around the time she died--just stopped. It has never run again.
I am very careful to be 'nice to her' on those days! LOL
Maybe she had your keyboard last night--she loves to visit people too!

Maybe your Mom is still reminding you that she is watching over you...not sure about how your relationship was with her...is that a good thing? LOL :-)
Please tell her not to visit me...I'm a 'Fraidy-Cat!
That's neat though, makes for some interesting stories.
