Katniss Everdeen; "I was not beautiful, I was as radiant as the sun"
Actress: Lily Collins (The Blind Side)
Why Her: Picking an actress for Katniss wasn't easy. I had to find someone who would be able to pass off as a strong warrior but at the same time be very beautiful. Not as easy as it sounds. I've only ever seen Lily in The Blind Side but she was great in it and she's still at an age where she can play a teen and it wont look forced.
Peeta Mellark; "You could live a hundred lifetimes & still not deserve him."
Actor: Hunter Parrish (It's Complicated, Weeds)
Why Him: Peeta, Peeta, Peeta. I kind of adore this kid with a passion, hence my username, so I had to get him just right. Hunter sorta just happened. Went to the movies with a couple of friends to see It's Complicated and the moment he came on the big screen, I inwardly squeed. He has a very tender but strong look. Not to mentions he's quite the cutie.
Gale Hawthorne; "I had to do that. At least once."
Actor: Max Minghella (Elvis and Anabelle)
Why Him: I'll admit, I'm not his biggest fan but I do have a very specific idea of how I see him. Gale is a young man that grew up too fast. He takes care of his family and even the Everdeen's on occasion. Brave, strong, and caring. His face had to be pretty but also show the pain he's gone through. If you've never had the chance to see Elvis and Anabelle, try to. Max is heartbreakingly beautiful in it.
Cinna; "I channel my emotions into my work. That way I don't hurt anyone but myself."
Actor: Hugh Dancy (The Jane Austen Book Club, Adam)
Why Him:I've got a big soft spot for Cinna. Other than Peeta, he really is my favorite character. I always imagined him to be very handsome but not in a 'im-so-pretty' kind of way. He had to have a soft face, one that Katniss could trust. Hugh's done countless movies, always looking very dashing but having a very quiet charisma. Exactly like Cinna.
Portia; "Portia and I spent a lot of hours watching fires."
Actress: Emily Blunt (The Devil Wears Prada)
Why Her: Beautiful, sophisticated, loyal. I've always thought of her as Cinna's female counterpart. Emily is pretty much all of that and more. I'm a big fan of her work and think she would be amazing as Portia.
Haymitch Abernathy; "Are you done knocking yourself out, sweetheart?"
Actress: Hugh Laurie (House, Sense and Sensibility)
Why Him: Sarcasm is a big part of why I like Haymitch. Well, at least until Catching Fire anyways. Whoever plays him has to be able to pull of that whole, "I pretend to not care but really do" kind of attitude. Comedic timing is also big. Basically, just watch House and you'll see why he's ideal for this part.
Effie Trinket; "Happy Hunger Games and may the odds be ever in your favor"
Actress: Laura Linney (The Nanny Diaries, PS)
Why Her: Oh Effie. I happen to honestly think there is more to her than meets the eye. She may be a little, whats the word, ditzy at times but she's always had both of P/K's best intentions at heart. Laura is one of the best actresses of our generation and would do more than a little justice to a role like this. Her part in The Nanny Diaries is kind of how I imagine her but more lighthearted.
