I need to explain a little on this one. We read a piece titled Girl in which the author went through advice she had been given in order to be a good girl. We then had to do a little interpretation on it, and I chose to do how to be a good person, and this is what resulted.

How to be Good and Why I’m Not

Always get enough rest.

But don’t sleep too late into the day.

Always be honest.

But telling a white lie won’t hurt anyone.

Always be nice.

But feign it when you need to.

Always be on time.

But don’t come unprepared.

Always be prepared.

But don’t work yourself up too much.

Always listen to what people tell you.

But don’t listen if they aren’t doing so well.

Always help those you can.

But ignore the homeless man, he’s probably lying.

Always do your best.

But it’s ok to give up from time to time.

Always look your best.

But criticize others that don’t.

Always try your hardest.

But it’s just a game, don’t worry about it.

Always play fair.

But if it makes you look good, cheat.

Always treat a lady like a lady.

But if she wants to be treated bad, treat her bad.

Always wash your hands.

But don’t bother if you’re in a hurry.

Always look both ways before crossing the street.

But act first, think later.

Always look before you leap.

But if you’re in a hurry, go for it.

Always give credit where it’s due.

But ignore it if no one likes the person.

Always be respectful.

But if they aren’t, don’t be.

Always share.

But they don’t always deserve it.

Always tell the truth.

But bending it can help everyone sometimes.

Always obey the rules.

But rules are meant to be broken.

Always brush your teeth.

But flossing is more important.

Always stop at a red light.

But if you can get away with it, why bother?

Always help your friends.

But if they did something to you, screw them.

Always have faith.

But if you don’t, you’ll burn.

Never give up.

And you can do whatever you want.
