Tarqeq is as technologically advanced as worlds come. Rows upon rows of skyscrapers glisten in the sun as they pierce into the atmosphere and hover over other oddly shaped buildings made of smooth chrome and steel. Wires seem to be the main decorating theme as they can be seen coiling around everything, including the buildings themselves. The population is as dense as the presence of machinery, so wandering may prove to be difficult, but if you can make your way around without outright suffocating you're free to roam where you please. That is, of course, if you manage to pass the initial examination. Being as advanced as Tarqeq is, the people have determined how to detect incoming travelers and immediately relocate them to their extensive research facilities as soon as they set foot in the world using robotic escorts, well equipped with a versatile arsenal should they come across any resistance. It is at these research facilities that they conduct thorough tests on all newcomers. The tests include: a physical, a blood test, a biological scan, psychological blot and color tests, and lastly free association with a brain meter. Through the course of the tests, the sick are healed and those that are perfectly healthy are registered and set free to explore the wonders Tarqeq has to offer at the conclusion. Of course not everyone is willing to be experimented on so easily but precaution has been taken to detain those that would react violently. Don’t think escaping from such highly developed containment chambers and wires faster and smarter than any attack dog is any easy task should you find yourself locked up. However, if you cooperate, you’ve nothing to worry about. The people will treat you as one of their own and the things you discover just may prove beneficial to you along your travels.
The TAP organization intercepts incoming travelers, wanderers, and vagrants, who find their way to Tarqeq. Beginning as an experimental offshoot of the "Let's Keep Tarqeq Beautiful" program, the goal is to stop foreign disease, unwanted violence, and corporate lawyers from running rampant within the community. What started as simple police patrols with access to closed-circuit television networks, is now an extensive scientific research project, funded by the University of Tarqeq, and the Tarqeq Department of the Interior. The current TAP system can predict the landing point of travelers from other dimensions, as well as normal domestic modes of transport such as air, water, and space travel. Specialized droid (VED) units are dispatched to greet visitors, and escort them to special Welcome Centers. Simple surveys, medical exams, and weapons scans are performed. Once a visitor has been cleared, they are free to roam the city and take in the splendor that is Tarqeq.
