Kurogane was sitting by the fire, surrounded by six furry bodies while she read. Each dog looked perfectly content laying near their mistress and by the fire, all of them asleep. These were nights that the girl enjoyed where the dogs weren't constantly fighting to have her full attention before exhausting themselves. She never enjoyed breaking up the fights. She had almost gotten bitten once or twice.

These dogs were left by her parents. They had been trained before bother had been killed, meaning that all of them were still young and spry. They stayed by her side while she was home, almost as if they were convinced that it was their duty to keep herself. It wasn't that Kurogane wasn't capable of fairing for herself, but the dogs were just that way. It was probably why most people avoided her house.

It was the sensitive hearing of the dogs that heard the sounds being carried on the wind. All six sets of ears perked at the sound of cries, each dog lifting their head to see what was making the sound. One or two started whimpering and got up to pace near the door. Kurogane sighed, putting down her book. "Its probably just a rabbit." She murmured, moving to try to soothe the agitated dogs. One started pawing at the door, pushing her nose against the crack in an attempt to open it without her mistress' aid.

"I'm not letting you out. Its too dark and you'll run off." Kurogane said, deciding to ignore the dog for now and return to her reading.

The jolt of her back hitting something hard made her eyes snap open and for her to be very confused on where she was. Her eyes raced all around the dark sky and the trees and then the man who had crawled over her and pinned her to the ground. Then it all hit her, the stinging face and the man's dirty hands. "Don't call for help," the man mumbled, and then he lowered himself to force a kiss on her mouth.

Yuui was horrified, tears running down her cheeks and her mind still trying to catch up. Pinned by the stronger mans body above her, hands began to trace her curves and hit things she didn't want to feel touched by someone else. And after a moment the man gripped and tore her clothes clean off. They hang in shreds where the fabric managed to hang on for dear life, and Yuui felt her panic start to boil over her.

The man saw this and tried to keep her down, but she was hysterical. "Stop! Stop please! I don't...!!" She contuned to struggle, crying, wanting him to get off. But the man gripped and pulled and bit with no sign or remorse. The man moved to grip her panties and suddenly some life came back to her. And she shoved the man hard. "HELP! SOME ONE HELP ME! PLEASE!!!"

That didn't last long. She was rewarded another hit to the face and the sharp rip of fabric tearing. No one was going to come were they? Tears steadily came down her face as she stopped fighting her captor. That mans dirty hands were on her now and she cried out for help once again. Which gave her another physical warning and violent growl.

"Please..." She begged, but the man just enjoyed that. And her pain, suffering, and fear. "Let me go..." She heard his zipper and could only sob. This was it then, she was about to get raped wasn't she? "... help...."

All of the dogs were up and at the door in a matter of seconds, almost knocking Kurogane over. They started barking and whimpering, pawing at the door. They would glance back at Kurogane, begging to be let out. Of course, it was making it so that the woman couldn't here the pleas outside, but there was going so much of the over-excited dogs that she could take.

She moved to open the door before they broke something in the house, all six of them surging out into the cold night. She sighed as she moved to go grab the leashes and her father's sword. She grabbed her coat and a latern before heading outside to go round up her dogs. She was not going to be losing on of her team. She was the only one with a large enough number of dogs for a rescue team anyway.

"Oi! Get back here!" She yelled, trying to reign in the dogs as she stepped outside. At least one dog stayed near the house. The others had dashed off towards two people in the snow, causing Kurogane to frown. No one came this way at night unless they were lost or had to get her for some reason. That was, until she noticed the pale hair. Her heart dropped at that and she hoped that maybe it was Fay instead of Yuui. Fay at least had a better chance of beating a guy like that away.

The sound of a dog growling was enough to shock the both of them, and Yuui panicked for the third or fourth time that night. The man pulled away, aggravated at being interrupted, while Yuui scrambled back to get away from both him and the dog. Dogs. There were more of them. Yuui yelped as one brushed beside her before realizing they weren't hunting her. She blinked and then cried in relief. Looks like someone had heard her and decided to come help. She wasn't expecting it to be a pack of dogs though...

The man was even more frustrated by the sound of more dogs. "A whole pack of 'em...?" He backed away from the one advancing on him from the front, only to jump at the snap he felt from behind, obviously being threatened not to stray to close. He had two from the back and the last two advancing from either side, giving him no way of escape. The man scrambled to find anything he could use as a weapon on his person to maybe give him an advantage, but it was futile.

Now it was that mans turn to be terrified. He should have thought this through better. When he noticed someone coming up to them he decided to try and play it smooth. "Hey! Call your dogs off!!" He wanted to throw a glare at Yuui to silently warn her to play along, but as soon as he tensed to move one of the dogs advanced a little closer and seemed to snarl at him. He let out a sound of panic and quickly stepped back from the dog.

Yuui noticed the person too, and even after all that she had been put through she did her best to cover herself up and look at least semi presentable. Which was a ridiculous thought really, with her torn clothes and her swollen and tear stained face. She backed out of the circle of dogs and further until she was a safe distance away from the man and the dogs, but not too far from the light.

"They only do this when someone is an especially bad piece of shit." Kurogane hissed, moving to take off her coat as she got closer and tossed it towards Yuui. She wouldn't say right now that she saw her because the man now had her full focus. "They won't do anything unless I say so."

She knelt down to put down the lantern and leashes, rubbing the dog next to her's head before glaring up at him. "If you want to have sex so bad, go to a fucking brothel you bastard!" She growled, moving to go punch the guy. She wasn't pleased with what she had seen. Nobody that she knew in this town would have sink so low as to rape some poor unsuspecting girl.

Well, it being Kurogane almost added salt to her wounds, but as the coat was given to her and moved to face that... monster, it seemed to give her some dressings for her instead. She took the coat and buried herself in it, quite literally, not sure what to feel. She was in shock, and trembling because of the cold snow against her skin. She was no longer paying attention to what that man was saying or how Kurogane was intercepting him.

The other dogs moved to let Kurogane have the room she needed, and the man suddenly smirked. He had this perception that he was a man and therefore stronger and better. And so he moved to try and attack her as she neared. But, he was wrong and overconfident. He got a punch to the face, a sickening crack in his ears as well, that made him loose his balance. The dogs jumped out of the way as he crashed to the ground, blood pouring down his mouth from where he bit his cheek, and a horrible pain exploding through his mouth with every pulse of his heart.

And the man seemed in complete disbelief that his face was now destroyed by some woman. He glanced up at the woman in shock. And then anger. But that was more for how his pride had a piece hacked out of it.

The dog that had arrived with Kurogane stayed near Yuui, looking up at her with soft eyes and licking her hand gently in a way of comfort. She sat down, raising her paw to try and get her attention.

Kurogane glared down at the man, tempted to kick him while he was down. "Don't you dare touch her again." She hissed, turning to go check on Yuui. She figured that breaking his jaw was good enough. Yuui was the one that needed to most attention at the moment.

"Are you okay?" She asked, wondering if she was going to need to call for the doctor. She was sure that Yuui would feel a bit better once she was warm and had clothes that were intact again. It would take time to recover from a trauma like that and she understood that.

The dog did get her attention with the licks, and she smiled weakly when the other lifted a paw. It was so cute that she couldn't resist petting her head. It felt good to feel the dogs soft fur, and it was so warm. She had to resist wrapped her arms around it, and instead continued to pet it gently.

When Kurogane headed back toward her she looked up and nodded silently. She really was alright, she worried about her face though. Some how she managed to stand on her own, hugging the coat to herself. The full brunt of this hadn't hit her exactly, and so she just kept the small smile on her face for now. It didn't help that she realized now just how cold her body was.

The man felt insulted and struggled to his feet, but couldn't growl out what he wanted without spitting blood on to the ground and staining the snow underneath him. He glared and with murderous intent in his eyes took a step to give Kurogane exactly what she deserved for hitting him in his minds eye. Except the dogs got in the way again.

Seeing red, instead of heeding the dogs warning, he kicked it out of his way. It was a bad idea, no sooner had the yelp escaped the dog was one of the other sinking it's teeth into his hand. In pain the man screamed, and tried to punch the dog off of his hand. Maybe he could take on one dog, but another one was rushing in to aide it's comrad. At a loss, the man pried the dog off and started to run. And the two dogs chased him off for a long while before trotting their way back through the snow.

The dog let her pet her and would have been perfectly happy to let her hug her if she so please. She nuzzled the hand petting her.

Kurogane gently moved her coat to wrap it around Yuui better, frowning slightly. "Let's get you inside and warm you up. You can stay the night if you don't want to be alone." She said, grabbing the leashes and lantern before wrapping an arm around the shorter woman. She winced at the yelp, but didn't move to help. The other dogs would punish the man for her after all. She would just have to look over the dog once they got back into the house.

She let out a short, sharp whistle to get the dogs' attention before moving towards the house to get Yuui to warmth and safety.

Silently she thanked the other woman as she wrapped the coat around her better, and greatly appreciated the arm more for warmth then any type of comfort. Though it was a bit comforting too. She nodded silently to the mention of staying the night, and just the thought of heading back to her own house made her take a frightened step closer to Kurogane and to hide deeper into the other woman.

The dogs trotted along behind them, looking happy and pleased with themselves. One remained next to Yuui, keeping close to her for her comfort. "My clothes will be a bit big on you, but I'm sure that they'll do for the night." Kurogane said, moving to open the door and let Yuui in.

First she wondered what kind of luck she had to be attacked like that, but then she wondered how good her luck was to be found by Kurogane. The one she developed a fondness for... though it was a bit hard to find now. She stepped in and was glad for the breath of heat that brought warmth to her lungs. She hugged herself and nodded again as she waited for Kurogane to show her what else to do. Her brain was slowly melting but at the moment she didn't want to remember what had happened. And so she pushed it aside for now. Maybe when she was warm and not in the danger of becoming a Popsicle, and she was comfortable and a bit more secure. Though having Kurogane and six dogs was enough to thaw her out enough and bring some moisture to her eyes.

Kurogane locked the door behind her, now feeling a bit awkward. "Make yourself comfortable. I'll go draw you a bath." She said before hurrying down the hall to the bathroom. The dogs all surrounded her, whimpering and begging for attention.

Yuui nodded again and watched Kurogane go, before focusing on the dogs. And getting a little lost. They were all so overwhelming with their need for attention. She kneeled slightly and allowed a few of them to lick her face. And it tickled so she couldn't help but laugh a little. She tried to pet as many as she could at one, but with two hands that was a bit difficult.

All six tails wagged happily and the attention, all of them happy to be with the blond. Kurogane smiled slightly as she peeked out around the corner. At least the dogs seem to be comforting her a little bit. Tears weren't something that she was good at dealing with, so she preferred to avoid them as much as possible. She would have to deal with them at some point she knew though.

She picked one lucky dog to wrap her arms around; probably the first one that had comforted her, and let herself crumbled just a bit. But she was still smiling though.
