Fai hadn't been lurking pre se. Hiding in the shadows a street away from the library for ten minutes or so, waiting to jump out and pounce on her sister was a more apt description. Plus it was cold out and these shadows offered a little shelter. She gave a warm 'innocent' smile to an old lady who noticed her and watched as the other waddled off faster. Hope she didn't slip, Fai would feel awful...
She turned back to watching the street in time to see Yuui turn the wrong way. Ah! Tricky twin~ Fai took off down a narrow street and waited again in some more shadows. Finally a familiar blond walked by. Fai smiled and moved quickly and near silently behind her sister then pounced. Not wanting to knock the poor dear over into the mucky streets, Fai's attack was surprisingly low key today. Probably just as startling if one didnt hear her coming. Fai slipped her arm through Yuui's and quietly asked, "Where are we going?"
Unfortunately Yuui was not expecting her to pop out of no where, and so as soon as she felt something tug on her arm she screeched and jerked away. And the sudden movement dislodged her movement. Ironically, she gripped who ever it was that grabbed her to try and keep her up. Once she was sure she had her complete balance, she turned her head to see who it was that scared her so bad. And then she saw blond and took a heavy breath a relief. "Fai.... you scared me!" Which was obvious. At least she hadn't fallen.
Sighing a bit to try and calm her slightly frazzled nerves, letting go so she could have one hand wrapped around Fai's comfortably. "I am going to go get something warm to drink," she replied. Yuui found her smile and turned one to her sister. "I guess I'm getting two warm drinks now?" After all, when could she ever deny wanting to bring her sister with her. Besides, she hadn't seen her in such a long while it almost felt like! And Yuui needed to tell her about the date!
Yuui's scream was amusing when Fai knew it wasn't for anything important. She smiled and let Yuui regain her balanced on her. Odd to grab your attacker. Fai didn't know if she was glad to see a level of naive innocence in the other or if she was deeply troubled by it. Probably both. Her smiled warmed when Yuui saw who she was, "Gotta keep you on your toes. It's my job!"
She let her hand be wrapped in the familiar warmth and was happy to find out she had scored a drink invitation. "Course~ I'll get us something to nibble on then?" Make the meeting last that much longer? They hadn't seen much of each other lately, which was part of the reason Fai had been stalking Yuui earlier.
No, it wasn't such a good thing. Kurogane had actually mentioned her getting a room mate or learning self defense because of her naivety and her innocence. That's why she had mentioned getting a dog as well. Oh well, guess it was something she could talk about with her sister once they got to the cafe they were currently heading towards. "Of course..."
Why of course her sister had scored an invitation. It was hard not to invite her, and seeing her broken by saying no was not something Yuui wanted to experience now or ever. Perhaps it would be unavoidable at some point, but Yuui liked to think that it wouldn't ever be something she would not have to see. "Yes please~" Again, like she could reject an invitation like that.
"Alright, let's go see what we can get then," Fai started walking just a bit faster. The air was indeed nippier today and talking sort of made one remember how much that invited the cold air in. It was like her lips were slowly freezing. So getting inside to chat and warm up sounded like a very smart thing to do. Fai kept there hands together to share that tiny bit of warmth and headed towards the closest cafe. She glanced over when they were getting close, not sure if this was the cafe Yuui had in mind or not. "Here?"
"Yes." It was cold. The kind of cold that made one's face pale and fingers swell. Yuui picked up the pace when Fai did, wanting to keep up, but also wanting to get out of the icy air that was freezing the breath she exhaled. She had to wonder how it wasn't freezing to her very lips when it was so cold out. Yuui was shivering by the time they reached the cafe and she nodded. It really didn't matter where as long as it was warm.
Fai quickly ushered her sister in to the cafe and into the welcoming heat. The smell of the food and drinks made it even better. She sighed as her lungs started to thaw and pushed her hood off, casting a friendly smile at anyone who bothered to look up at the newcomers. Fai was actually a bit hungry now that she could smell everything and let go of Yuui's hand to go see what there was to eat. Obviously her eyes landed on something sweet looking that was about the size of her face. Must be where that cinnamon smell was coming from. Fai looked over to find her twin again, smiling and pointing at the bun, "Split that?"
Taking a deep breath, color finally rushed back to her face and she found herself taking deep breaths of both warm air and the sweet aromas that surrounded them both. She closed her eyes and enjoyed the flavor of it. Yuui opened her eyes and noticed that Fai was looking at her and pointing at something in the case. And her eyes widened dramatically. "That's so big though... I don't know if I could handle even a quarter of that!" Which, was of course, a yes.
"Exactly." Fai smiled, that's why there was leftovers then. She smiled back at the person over the counter and ordered one for the two of them to split. Once money and food and politeness were exchanged, Fai turned to find a table for them to sit at while Yuui got drinks. The bun was surprisingly heavy and the smell of sugary goodness was even stronger now. And it was warm, which her hands liked very, very much. With a glance back at her sister again, Fai moved with the plate to go sit. She was excited to hear what Yuui had been doing since they'd last spoken, since it had to be more pleasant then her life.
Yuui blinked before laughing a little. She had a feeling Fai would try to kill her with too much sugar. She shook her head lightly and waited for her turn, where she decided to follow up the extensive amount of sugar by ordering hot chocolate. Not just any hot chocolate, hot chocolate that drowned in whip cream and chocolate chips and chocolate sauce; almost looked like ice cream. Yuui followed her sisters example with pleasantries and money before grabbing a couple of spoons and then the cups. Which were hot and her hands greatly appreciated that. And she couldn't wait to drink it, knowing the feeling of that first hot sip traveling down would thaw her completely. She moved to sit with her sister, smiling warming, placing the cup near her first before settling in her own chair. "That smells really good from here~"
Fai sat with a sigh and started settling in. Their food safely in the middle of the table, she shrugged off her outer coat to lay over her chair and started tugging off her gloves. Fai blinked at the two drinks Yuui was bringing over. "Hyuu... I may not eat until dinner tomorrow." She laughed and wondered how close that was to true. Either of the things ordered would be enough to fill a person for a day. Or make them sick.
Fai eyed both things with glee and then decided that her hair was being a bother. She hadn't cut it since arriving to this town, so it had a tendency land in her food. Fai reached up up and started gathering her hair for a pony tail, "So, what has been happening on your side of town?"
This sugar was probably going to put them to sleep in a couple of hours as well. Oh well, she didn't have to work tomorrow anyway. She started to take off her own mittens and unzipped her coat, when excitement hit her and brought a glow to her face. "Oh~ Fai~!!" She giggled and blushed heavily, thinking about her date with Kurogane. It had been a little awkward of course but... "Kurogane and I are meeting again~!!"
And Fai only had to get her chores done by noon, so sleeping could be put off. She got her hair out of the way, mostly, some still framed her face. Fai started reaching for a spoon before Yuui's new made her blink and look up at her in a bubbling excited sort of way. "Ah?! That's great! It went well then? What happened?" She started dragging her mug closer to her, idly poking the whipped cream with her spoon. Her attention for now was on her sister though.
Yuui was in her own little world, and the whipped cream was melting and making her own mug sticky as it fell over the side. "Well... it was a little awkward at first..." She started rocking back and forth in her seat, a lovely smile on her face. "But, we hit common ground on books and puppies." She grabbed her mug despite it's stickiness so she could have something to do other than bounce around. "She's gonna come with me to get a dog and then help me train it because she is worried about me living alone~~!!" And then Yuui squealed; but it was a squeal-tastic moment, so who could blame her?
Fai slowly starting bringing spoonfuls of her drink up to eat while listening to Yuui. Awkward was the obvious starting point with Yuui's shyness and Kuro-leek's social skills. Fai smiled something that could not rival Yuui's as she went on. Good! Yuui deserved to be that happy. And Kurogane had noted Yuui's safety issues as well. Fai expected that in a way. She smiled a little knowingly and then let it drop to the sticky bun on the table. "Aww. Kuro-rum is protective!" How sweet. She ripped off a chunk of bun and started eating. Fai smiled happily for the other, laughing lightly at her joy. "So? When are you two going then?"
"Not sure... but soon~" Yuui stared dreamily out at the ceiling before realizing what a fool she must look like and gasped lightly. "Oh um..." She picked up her napkin and let go of her drink in order to wipe at the mug and her hand. And then she picked her spoon up. "So... how are you?"
