The way he spoke was very very un-Lelouch, the situation was very un-Lelouch. He walked sluggishly almost like his body didn't want to walk. If she didn't know any better she would think she would be seeing things. It was when he held out his hand that she she began to come back to reality. She stared at his hand and then back at him, she tried to speak but her mouth open and closed.
It was then she realized her place and composed herself. She realized the audicity of his words and was rather...unpleased. She ignored his open hand gesture, and replied not without showing her displeasure. She beat the hand away and stepped in front of him. "What do you mean what am I doing here?!? I could ask the same question, ya know?"
She couldn't help but stutter at her next words, "And wha-why are you like-" she paused, trying to find the words to describe it and felt an edge of desperation leak into her voice, "like this!!"

Kallen needed to relax. Picking up his hand that had been so cruelly rejected, he placed it on the girl’s shoulder as he answered her questions, the pout suddenly non-existent and replaced with a blissful smile.
“M’here with Rolo,” he indicated with a nod of his head behind him to the younger boy standing at the phone, “’parently we need sm’ asssis-asis-..sassis-....help getting back home.”
Turning back to Kallen, he leaned in a little closer towards her face seemingly about to let her in on a deep dark secret when he lowered his voice and pointed to the bottle he’d been clutching in his other hand.
“V’just had a lil’ bit t’ drink s’all.”

Kallen was trying very hard not to not let out a fit of laughter at the whole situation particularly. Especially since that he almost never use contractions and now that was all he was using. But at the same time she wanted to let out a bitter laugh as she saw Lelouch in a different light for once. She had never seen him smile before at least this carefree smile, or at least to her anyways. In addition, she knew if she were any other girl she would think the pout would be insanely adorable.
She almost found it ironically comical that it took a substance to make him like this in front of her. She felt a pang of a foreign emotion creep through her at that thought, Why can't he be this way more often...why can't he be like this with me more often.
She hadn't realized that she shifted her eyes away from him until she looked back at Lelouch. How long had it been since she spoke last? How long was she thinking for? She closed her eyes and let out a dark chuckle, Oh well...no reason to get upset over this...
After finally getting out of her internal reverie, the red head tapped her hand against Lelouch's, lightly and rather awquardly, in an effort to show that she meant well. She spoke to him slowly almost as if talking to a child, "I think you've had more than just a little to drink Lelouch."
She had already begun to notice that her motherly instinct was starting to kick in. It wasn't the first she had to be the one cutting off her comrades. Hell she had to do it to Ohgi and Tamaki numerous times. She smirked inwardlyas she realized what she was about to do. She reached with her other free hand to grab the alcohol, "I'll be taking this, thank you. I think you've had quite enough alcohol for one night." She outwardly smirked now, at her imminent success.

Yanking that hand away, he immediately lunged towards Kallen and made a grab for the bottle. Of course with his unsteady balance, that only meant him colliding fully against her body, the only reason their noses weren’t touching being his gaze that was focused so intensely on getting his drink back.
But Lelouch paid no mind to the sudden intimate proximity. The stubborn teen only had one goal in mind despite his compromising position.
“Giv’it baaack,” he whined in a most undignified manner, “L’share f’you you want but don’ take it away. S’mine.”

But all of a sudden something wierd happen: she burst out laughing. He's acting like I just stole his favorite toy or something His lunges and complaints only made her laugh harder. But it didn't seem like she was laughing about that. Honestly how long had it been since she had a good laugh, to just be a kid for once, "Stop that!!" She started to giggle even, she just couldn't stop laughing.
"Honestly Lelouch stop-....that..." the words died on her mouth at the sudden realization. It was now of all times that she realized their close proximity. Not when he collided into her or when they toppled over, but after it had already been done with. How she could be so oblivious sometimes.
Of course Mr. Spoiled brat-cry baby wouldn't notice. Hell she'd be lucky if he noticed anything right now other than his precious "baba" (i.e. bottle in baby speak). But still that didn't change the fact that she was realizing their position now of a ll times. She still had the bottle outstretched from his grabby hands but he was lying right on top of her; his eyes still on the "prize". That's right we fell earlier
Kallen hadn't realized that she was completely frozen stiff now. She couldn't help but gulp loudly and could feel heat rising to her cheeks, "Um, Uh, L-Lelouch...?"

However, then the laughter abruptly ceased for some unknown reason and Lelouch took the opportunity to get a hand over Kallen’s wrist while she was evidently distracted by something. It wasn’t much but it was still a step closer to his objective, and that’s what mattered to the inebriated prince.
Tilting his head down to look into her face, which he’d only been this close to once before if he’d been able to remember such a thing at the moment, he observed the blush and stared with half-lidded eyes, none of the obvious precariousness of their situation sinking into his mind at all. No, instead he thought of a new and brilliant plan for the salvation of his beloved wine bottle. One that he never would have employed at any other time unless he was hopelessly stuck in a situation that called for his flawless acting skills. He was going to try asking nicely.
Without a moment’s hesitation, he brought his lips within centimeters of Kallen’s own, as if emphasizing the importance of what he was about to do, and in what he hoped sounded convincing, but in reality sounded rather...pathetically desperate despite it probably being the most sober thing that had come out of his mouth in a while, he asked of his comrade,
“Kallen... Please?”

When had Lelouch asked her, no, begged her, for anything. She honestly couldn't remember, she honestly didn't want to remember. This wasn't right. This whole situation wasn't right she knew it..but still. That thought was enough to sober her up.
Well he's clearly being obvlivious, heh well too can play this game Mr. Lamperouge. If he wanted to be "serious", well so could she. She had to lay it to him straight or he wouldn't understand.
She finally got over her embarrasment as the blush slowly began to melt away. Her eyes hardened, all the happiness from her period of laughter gone, "Begging really doesn't suit you, Zero ." Her voice almost sounded hollow, empty. She only brought up that he was Zero on...special occasions.
She tried to get up and sat up on her elbows, pushing Lelouch up off her slightly. Her eyes turned away looking at some place far away, "It kind of degrades you to a level only dogs could reach. It's not what one would call your strong suit ", she knew her cold words would sting and were completely out of line, but she didn't care. She knew and hopefully he would know too, that she wasn't just talking about his words now, but what was bothering. She didn't know if he would understand in his state though. But if she couldn't get to Lelouch this way, then why bother.

Hearing the hauntingly familiar name made him feel...strange. It was an odd combination of shock, disgust, and despair, none of which were particularly pleasant. Unfortunately, with his jumbled thoughts, he couldn’t determine the exact reason for the emotions bubbling up inside him.
Except Kallen, who’d spoken the word of course. Kallen, who’d deceived him, taken his wine away, and now brought up that name and was comparing him to a dog. Just what did she have against him anyway?
Being nudged away from his position lying down when the girl picked herself up, Lelouch held himself up on his elbows and knees to hover over her instead, a glare, which had once looked so much fiercer before he’d stepped into that fateful bar, settling on his previously sleepy looking features. If asking nicely didn’t work, perhaps the exact opposite would instead.
“Th’n I demand that you return my p’ssession th’s second,” he insisted in the most commanding voice he could muster. He was going to need that wine more than ever now if the feelings Kallen’s comments managed to evoke intended to last.

But why? Why would he not want to be Zero anymore? Unless...maybe it had to do with their last mission: to capture the new governor. But what would that have to do with anything? I mean, yes the mission was considered to be a failure; but there was no need to be so concerned about it. They had had failures before, hell the whole black rebellion was considered in many ways a failure. What was so different about this one battle than the rest? Kallen had the slight suspicion that there was more to this situation than meets the eye. She had to get to the bottom it.
But her confidence wavered when she heard him speak. Heard the words that had once meant to command hundreds of troops, now garbled under the effects of alcohol. She knew he tried to be convincing, but compared to the man she knew, his "commanding words" were nothing. A sudden surge of hopelessness ran through her. If he could only look at himself right now he would be disgusted with himself, as was she.
He wanted his wine back, well he would get it. Oh yes he would, that was certain.
"Well if you really want it that badly..." she paused slightly as she attempted to control her irritation bordering on anger "Fine! I'll give it to you!"
Then without warning, she gripped the wine bottle hard in her hand and swung the bottle hard right at Lelouch's face; hitting him right between his cheek and his jaw bone.
In the back of her mind she heard, Heh, that'll sober him up real quick. , but she disregarded it. She huffed out in satisfaction of letting out her anger and frustration. If her violence didn't work on sobering up than at least she satisfied her own needs by clobbering him.

"NO!" he cried out, stopping time and her hand withdrew. He quickly maneuvered over to her, withdrawing his knife and pressing the blade to her throat before his Geass power ended.
"I don't know who you are, but I won't allow you to hurt Brother," he smirked into her ear, despite being shorter than her. Then, he cast his gaze at the dazed Lelouch. The smirk on his lips growing. "Shall I kill her for you, Brother? You don't deserve to be treated in such a way..."

“R-Rolo,” the older Lamperouge stuttered out as he backed away from the pair and stumbled back up to his feet, not expecting Rolo to make his re-entrance so violent. There was something almost...sad, disappointed, shameful in his eyes when he gazed down at his now captive fellow Knight, the soreness in his cheek acting as a constant reminder of the events that had just transpired, thus making them impossible to forget or shove aside for any amount of time.
“Let...’er go. She’s...’mportant to me. Jus’ let ‘er go n’let’s go home,” Lelouch ordered, sounding infinitely more depressed than he probably had when he was sober. This wasn’t supposed to be happening. It almost made him sick with the dread and misery he’d been trying to escape sparking back to life in his gut. Perhaps he just needed more to drink to re-bolster the effects he’d been enjoying.
Leaning over, he plucked the wine bottle from Kallen’s hands before turning his attention to Rolo, waiting for him to release his deadly hold on the redhead.

It was all unbelievable. Wasn't she dreaming or something? Maybe or maybe not.
Kallen wanted to laugh at it all. At Lelouch's behavior, at the sudden realization that Lelouch myseriously now had a brother. It was all comical, farcical even. She had felt a hysterical laughter at the moment bubbling for the base of her throat, or maybe that was the knife. She didn't really know.
But that all came crashing down when Lelouch ordered to let her go. After hitting him in the face with a wine bottle, he still considered to be "important" to her. Guilt swept over her as she suddenly felt numb. What the hell had she done.
Kallen let the bottle go out of her fingers as Lelouch took it from here. Not that she particularly cared anymore.
She whispered to Rolo, "Do whatever you want. But know this: I won't hurt him, I promise. I would never...intentionally hurt Lelouch. Well not anymore anyways." then she dropped her voice so only he could here, "But if you do let me live we will discuss this whole brother business, I can promise you THAT ."

"Right now, you're alive by Brother's will alone. I suggest you keep that in mind."
With that, he deftly slipped his knife back into a pocket and strode over to his inebriated brother. Rolo held out a hand for Lelouch. The older teen's state was even more worrisome now that he knew the Knight of Seven was on the way to aid them. He had to figure out a way to make Lelouch understand that they needed to keep secret the fact that Rolo had switched sides.
"Brother, are you ready to go home now?" he asked.

"Try not to make such ridiculous claims in front of those that clearly know they are false. Also, I find it hard to trust anyone who would dare make that statement.", Kallen glared at the "other Lamperouge" hands on her hips in distrust
"But no matter, putting our differences aside we need to get Lelouch home. Preferably without further drinking of any alcohol." She took a few steps before she turned around to look at the pair. "Well then? Shall we?"

While he knew Kallen’s comments should probably be addressed at some point in time, he opted to take her advice and ignore it. Instead he looked down at Rolo somewhat wearily, and with his other hand that still had the glass bottle in it, he touched a couple fingers to the now reddened area of his face while he asked,
“Di’n...wassit Kallen you called? Though’ I...heard y’say Suzaku....” he tapered off before moving on to a rather extraneous question regarding his cheek, “Doessit look bad?...”

"Does it hurt, Brother?" he asked softly, carefully grazing his fingers across Lelouch's skin. "It's painful, isn't it?"
