Just checking in.
What's new? Nothing really. I'll try to resume everything...
It may be I will start doing just my office and lay of the nursing home in the beginning of October. It will be good to just work in one place, but the downside is that I will miss the nursing home... and I may actually get paid less, because of the recent public service salaries adjusting legislation. So a bother on that.
I'll still keep working in the anticoagulation treatment office though.
I may actually finish my MS. Someone I really respect has offered to become my mentor and kick my behind into finishing it. So that's really positive. I'd like to finish it. And maybe even finish my PhD sometime. But first things first.
Trying to get myself to write a paper for the main medicine journal here (not that that's saying much, actually. :P). I need to do it to get some positive karma concerning MS and just generally my position in family medicine community... and I can use it to get the credit for a particular specialisation module, which will spare me a huge effort and quite a bit of time.
I've gotten a sterling new patient. *rolls eyes* ex-heroin addict, and addicted now to methadone, Apaurin and Dormicum... he's just out of jail where he had spent the last ten years, but is in house arrest, apparently for the next while, and he's still standing accused of variour other things, but what I understand, in which he may still get convicted. I foresee trouble... and I don't know how to help him, really, to get out, or at least lessen, his dependence on drugs, even leaving methadone aside. He's been already bugging me for prescription of those drugs in enormous doses. :P
At home, all the kids are just as wonderful as they used to be, but I think it'll be good for the older two to start school in a week. They've had an opportunity to watch TV MUCH too much. They spent one week in the care of Gaja's babysitter, two weeks on the family vacation at the seaside, two weeks at home, first with me and then with Light of my Life, two weeks going to swimming school, a week going to active vacation program in ZOO, one week with our friend watching them, and they'll be with Gaja's babysitter for the last week again. And she's just not strict enough.
NEvertheless... school supplies are bought, and I think they're looking forward to it. I want to make them a sports equipment bag... just fear I won't find the time to do it in the end. The second walrus is, I think, very excited, looking forward to it... and very much afraid. This whole summer, since we took him out kindergarten, he hadn't been sleeping well, and he's been rather moody in his special way. He gets demanding, things have to be just so, and finds something offensive in nearly everything. Light of my Life says he needs extra special reassurance, and I suppose he's right...
Gaja officially starts kindergarten on September 1st. I need to call her teacher, meet her, and talk to her about introducing week and how to help her adjust to it. She's been having one on one interaction with her baby sitter, and was at home... it'll be different now. :( I've taken leave for the first week of September so that we can adjust to kindergarten gradually.
So, two firsts. We'll have to get into a new routine, but I hope it'll go smoothly.
Oh, and I've gotten again that nesting mood (and no, I'm not pregnant again! ;)). I want to do things, decorate my home, clear and clean and polish. I put together an order for the kids furniture so that we get their room in order - we'll use the furniture to divide it into three inequal parts. I hope we'll place it tomorrow, the waiting time is about 45 days as it is. It'll cost an arm and a leg though. But they do need it - or we'll have to call in builders and build the walls and STILL buy more furniture.
I wish I had more time for everything... but then I squander it on computer, doing nothing much really. *rolls eyes* I could've updated every day, with the time I spend here. With wise words, witty comments and even pictures. Gah.
Light of my Life went to a LAN party. I wish he'd be back already. Inadvertently I've watched a few safe driving ads on You Tube and now I'm paranoid.
