Stargate SG-1 and BSG - includes spoilers!

Well, I haven't gotten around to discussing Scifi Friday yet. Been pretty busy - in fact, so busy that I haven't even had a chance to *watch* Atlantis yet. But I did watch BSG and SG-1.

Spoilers under the cut!

I liked BSG, for the most part. A little heavy on the Baltar/Six foolishness...but other than that, a solid episode.

Very interesting, the direction they are taking Apollo - I'm really interested to see how his storyline plays out. I hope we don't see the hooker and her kid again though. I've always hated kids in scifi (Jake Sisko is the ONLY Trek kid I can even tolerate at all, and sometimes even *he* is annoying) and that storyline was no exception. Plus, I was really annoyed that the hooker didn't whack that guy over the head or something while he was choking Apollo. She was pretty worthless - he can do alot better. :D

Interesting, the way they let the Black Market continue to survive. I like the contrast of the pragmatic approach (Adama and Apollo) and the idealistic approach (Roslin). They are writing these characters really consistent, and I'm quite pleased about that. Yay, Ron Moore!

Wonder who is gonna command the Pegasus now though. They are getting pretty low on qualified people! *lol* Seems every time a commander over there goes into that one room, they end up dead. Must be bad karma in there or something.

As for SG-1, I did like the storyline with Mitchell's buddy. That was good...and very well acted by both Ben Browder and the guy who played his friend. The other story with the Jaffa was okay...but I'm getting a smidge tired of Jaffa politics already. I see the need to keep that storyline going, because the Jaffa were a long time getting to this place and it wouldn't be right of the writers to just drop the story. But I don't know....they need to speed it up just a bit, IMO.
