It's been a long time coming (and an even longer time since I've posted here!) but I've FINALLY updated my website with new photos with my new lightbox, and a lot of interesting gets. The largest update was to the Flats page, I had a ton that I was putting off documenting because I had gotten a ton of all at once. Click below to head on over to the website, and check beneath the cut for some of my favorite collection photos!
So in the years since my last post here, my husband and I bought a house! I also got a glass cabinet from Ikea to store my collection in! :) And you know what, it actually looks pretty full!
So which stuff was I most excited to finally update? Probably this weird VHS tape:
I don't have a working VCR right now so I've still not watched what's on this thing, but I do know where I could possibly go to have its contents digitized, because I'm pretty sure whatever is on this tape hasn't been documented otherwise. It's something to do with the Pokemon Ondo closing theme. My current theory for what's on here is that this is an instructional video for the bon dance that's often performed during the Obon Festival, to ondo music, hosted by Sachiko Kobayashi in this insane Garura Kobayashi getup.
I also added a lot of customs! I might be a little biased, but one of my favorite customs that I added was this baby Kangaskhan plush that I made using the Akira Originz pattern a few years ago now. It was their Patreon pattern for the month, whenever that was, 2021 or so I think.
I felt like just chilling while working on this, so I hand-sewed it instead of getting out my sewing machine, and I painted the eyes because I don't have an embroidery machine. The arms get stitched onto the outside of the finished body, so you can place them wherever and at whatever orientation you want. Mine is asking to be picked up for hugs!
I'm still on the lookout for stuff for my collection, but honestly I'm finding a lot less things that I've not seen before, new stuff that I'm interested in. I guess I'm running out of Kangaskhan stuff to collect, new stuff to find. Stuff that's within my means, anyway. (looking at you, Applause prototype...) So I've been a lot more interested in customs lately!
