Hi everybody! :D I meant to make this collection post in February, but February went by way too quickly and now it's solidly March so I guess it's better late than never! In addition to my collection post, I also have some new kid figures up for sale!
Please click this cut to see the exciting stuff I've added to my collection in the past few months!!
First up, I wanted to share some plush that I've purchased since December!
From left to right we have: a Haxorus MPC, a Charmander Bandai Friends plush, and a Treecko Bandai Friends plush! I was having an increasingly hard time finding Haxorus MPC listings, even in lots, so I'm really grateful that I was able to buy one on its own after finally winning an auction on Yahoo! Auctions Japan! Charmander and Treecko came together from irrisichi and I love how small and fuzzy they are!
I visited Tokyo in 2019 when the Johto Fits were still fresh and I passed up on the opportunity to buy Ho-Oh because I was already buying so many. I came to regret that choice, and my friend who lives in Tokyo helped me buy this Ho-Oh from the Pokemon Center during one of the Johto Fit restocks! He also helped me get this "Write a Report!" Charmander mascot and it is RIDICULOUSLY SOFT.
Here are some fun Banpresto friends I've purchased recently! I didn't even try to keep up with the Banpresto Charizard plush releases when the reboot movies started coming out because they all looked pretty similar and there were SO MANY. The leftmost Charizard is one from that time that I finally decided to buy because it was super cheap and it is very cute! The Charizard in the middle with the Sitrus Berry is absolutely adorable and is from Youngster Joey! The Phanpy has a super soft towel-like texture and is SO CUTE (and is also from Youngster Joey)!
For my final plush get for this post, here is the Donphan Hasbro plush! I've wanted this plush for ages and just hadn't set aside the funds for it, but I was finally able to purchase one from Krys recently! It's stuffed surprisingly firmly, likely to keep its wonderfully round form factor. It also has its tag which I think is super cool and nostalgic!
Next up, I want to share some awesome figures!
First is this set of Pokemon featured in the anime's World Championships tournament! I was really hyped about this arc of the anime (despite the filler/recap episodes dampening my excitement while it was happening...) and I'm really happy to add some merch of many of the main heavy-hitters to my collection!
On the far left here is another World Championships-themed Charizard gacha figure (this time I didn't get the whole set) and I love how the head is sculpted! Next to it is the "Pinch and Connect" Charizard gacha keychain, which looks like that because it's supposed to hang while also holding other figures from the set like this
Pikachu and Eevee pair that it came with. To the right of the Pinch and Connect Charizard are two bell keychains: Charmeleon on a Pokeball and Charizard on a Master Ball! I have Charizard on an Ultra Ball already, and I was really excited to add the Master Ball to my collection! I love the Charmeleon too, and I was really happy to see it included with the Charizard!
Keeping with the gacha theme, here is a Flygon strap that was released in 2004 in a swing strap set that celebrated Pokemon important to the movies
(the Deoxys movie is the most prominently featured on the pamphlet but the majority of the straps relate to the Jirachi movie actually)! Next to it is a silly blocky Charizard gacha figure that I've wanted for a long time! It has two paint spots on the side in the picture, but the other side looks more pristine. I didn't take a picture of that side because the wing on that side is curved backward, probably from storage, so I'm working on gently un-curving it haha!
These are a couple of super exciting figures! The Charmander is from the "Are you close by?" Re-Ment series and I very rarely see it for sale. I won it on Yahoo! Auctions Japan for a great price and I was so excited to finally be able to hold it! The Larvitar is from TinyTopHats and it is SO AWESOME. I absolutely adore all of the random merch that came out for the 4th Pokemon movie, and this Larvitar being a suction cup figure on a weird spinning top-looking base perfectly embodies that random vibe.
Switching to non-Japanese figures for a second, I was super happy to find the Jazwares cave diorama figure at GameStop and the poseable Typhlosion at Target! I'm a huge sucker for Tyrunt merch, so I knew I had to get the cave diorama if I ever saw it in-person. He loves to faceplant off of the rocks which is a little annoying, but I really love this idea for a toy! Typhlosion is awesome and doesn't look as weird in-person as its stock photos made it seem, and I'm so happy about that!
Bonus Typhlosion picture because I love how it's almost exactly the same size as my Hasbro Typhlosion from 2001! Pokemon toy design has changed a lot over the years, but I love that there are still similarities here.
I got my "Memories of Pokemon Get" kid figures in the mail the other day and these are the ones I'm keeping from the box! It's hard to tell in this picture, but my Tyranitar's eye is super misaligned with the indent in the plastic that designates where it's supposed to go, so I'm a little disappointed about that. It was the only one in my box, so I think I'll buy another one in hopes of its eye looking more normal. I really love the variety in this kid figure set, and I'm super excited to add my first Sprigatito and Fuecoco figures to my collection!! And I have extras listed for sale at the bottom of this post for anybody interested.
Along with the kid figure box, I also ordered these Monster Collection figures that I was missing from my collection! I'm going to open them soon to display them more easily, but I really love how they look in those cool boxes. Also it makes me laugh to see how many times TOMY has used almost exactly the same Tyranitar sculpt for figures of varying sizes recently.
I am SO HAPPY to finally add these Banpresto diorama figures to my collection!! I purchased a boxed Charizard vs Blastoise diorama a while back for a really great price and I was going to open it, but I felt terrible about the thought of opening such an old box, so I decided to buy a lot with both of these awesome dioramas for about the same price I paid for my original boxed one. I LOVE how stylized these figures are. They give off such an early-Pokemon vibe that is hard to describe! Also I've always found it funny how Mewtwo doesn't come with a ball or something for the attack he is charging.
Next up, some miscellaneous gets that I'm excited about! :D
First, I FINALLY added the Tokyo Skytree pin with Charizard on it to my collection! This pin is the "secret rare" from the set, and I tried (and failed) to get it from the gacha machine when I visited the Skytree Pokemon Center in 2019, so I'm really happy to finally have it!
Next, I won this
"Pokemon Plate Holder" gacha keychain from Yahoo! Auctions Japan! It came in a capsule shaped like the paper backing you can see in the picture and I think that is very fun. Seeing Charizard and Cyndaquil together like this makes me think of the intro animation to Gold and Silver and it's so cool!
This Christmas Charmander pouch is SO CUTE! I've wanted something with this artwork on it for a long time, and I was really happy to be able to buy this from Yahoo! Auctions Japan! It's from 1998, and I believe it originally held a letter set featuring the Pokemon 1998 Christmas artwork.
I added this PMD Blue Rescue Team mini eraser cartridge to my collection thanks to the wonderful PrimalDialga493! :D I always want to collect more Rescue Team merch, so I was really excited for the opportunity to buy this eraser cartridge! I also want to collect every Pokemon cartridge eraser in general so this is a great first step teehee!
More Pikachu's Pikaboo merch! This time, it's a pencil pouch with a couple of iconic promo artworks on it that I love so much.
These adorable can badges are from oberonsoasis! I really love all of the artwork from early-2000s Pokemon Center promotions, so I always try to collect little items from them when I can.
Also from oberonsoasis, I added this amazing Treecko keychain to my collection! I love this artwork SO MUCH because it was featured in Pokemon Channel and looking at it gets
the interlude song stuck in my head :'D
Thanks to my friend who lives in Japan, I was able to get these PokeLid stickers for Shuckle, Charmander, and Larvitar! I was really happy that I didn't have to gamble with blind-packaged keychains and postcards to get items with these PokeLids on them.
I apparently didn't get a great picture of the slip case, but here are the CD cases themselves for the "BEST of BEST of BEST" Pokemon anime OP/ED collection! This collection is so much fun! I love that I finally own these songs and I don't have to worry about them getting removed from the YouTube playlists I kept trying to make with them haha!
Just as a sample of the coolness of this collection, I wanted to share some of the CD designs (please ignore how lop-sided this image is haha)! Each CD has a different Pokeball on it!!
This is a unique CD for my collection: the Pokemon Screen Club! This CD includes fun cosmetic goodies for Windows 95 computers and I look forward to when I have time to explore everything on it! I've seen a couple of wallpapers that people have uploaded and they're amazing.
The last couple of things for this collection update are super exciting:
I won an auction for the PikaPika Starry Sky Camp train set and the Jirachi Wishmaker traveling circus set, both from TOMY! These are incredible additions to my ChibiPokeHouse collection!!
First up, the PikaPika Starry Sky Camp train set! It advertises the ChibiPokeHouse I have on the back, which is really fun to see! It also advertises the gacha expansion set that I hope to add to my collection soon too!
The figures are the same as the ChibiPokeHouse, except they all have holes in the bottom so they can fit on the pegs on this train set. Unfortunately the Skarmory figure has suffered some discoloration but it isn't too noticeable when looking at it on a shelf.
Next up, the Jirachi Wishmaker traveling circus set! This one also advertises the gacha expansion that a Flygon figure I have is from!
Here's a closeup of the figures, and they have magnets on them to stick to parts of the gacha playset!
WOW that felt like a lot of stuff! I hope it wasn't too boring to read through everything and I hope that at least the pictures were fun!
I also wanted to post some brief sales of my extra kid figures from the newest set!
