Favorite 2022 gets

Happy holidays everyone!

I haven't made a new post here in well over a year, and it has been a while since I've had a free day to snap multiple photos, so I'm taking advantage of this opportunity. I am unable to share everything I got in 2022, so I tried to pick out some of my favorites, especially ones that people in this community helped me acquire!

My main collection is Grovyle, but I am also interested in a variety of Gen 3 + Advanced Generation era goods that roughly fall under copyright years 2003 through 2006.

First up are some Pokemon Center Japan calendars. Each month has different illustrations and artworks, but here is a preview of the pages featuring Grovyle!

Pokemon Center Japan notepads. primaldialga493 helped get the middle one sent my way!

Pokemon Center Japan handkerchief and bento dividers. I want to find this artwork on more goods!

Pokemon Center Japan polvorones (cookies) tin, notepad, and clearfile, all with the same artwork.

Custom artworks by mayziken and primaldialga493! mayziken drew the left one for my birthday and one of them is holographic print. primaldialga's came with a magnet too.

Famitsu Pokemon Colosseum magnet set, plus button pins. Famitsu is a line of video game magazines published in Japan. Sometimes freebies like this can be found in the appendix section of their magazines. primaldialga493 sold me the pins! We think they are prizes from a Pokemon Colosseum tournament held at Port Messe Nagoya in Japan.

Advanced Battle poster from the Official Nintendo Magazine! A British publication that ran from 2006 to 2014. It especially hits home at the moment, with the recent announcement of Ash Ketchum's departure from the anime. Advanced Battle is also the last season Veronica Taylor voiced Ash in the English dub after 4Kids Entertainment's contract expired. I stopped actively watching the show after Gen 3 ended, so this is very nostalgic!

Unknown origins, but at the very least, it's definitely from Japan. It is difficult to capture due to its very large size and folded into 6 squares, so I can only share a preview for now.

Sherwood Brands frisbee! This is actually official. Sherwood was a manufacturer of premium confectionary products and novelty items. It appears they had a license to Pokemon for a short time (2007-2008?) that allowed them to make this frisbee, along with other somewhat hard-to-find items, such as the Pikachu and Lucario Easter gift basket plush, and Diamond & Pearl mugs!

Winds of Hoenn fanzine/artbook with over 175 pages of content created by multiple fan artists and writers! All profits were donated to Ocean Conservancy. More information about their project can be found on Twitter: https://twitter.com/HoennZine

The Jakks Diamond & Pearl figures are not "new" gets, per se. They are my exact childhood figures, but I sold them to an old forum friend in 2013 in order to raise funds for the Heartland Lucario plush I won in an auction hosted on this community way back when.
I always took good care of my figures, even as a kid. Unfortunately, Dialga and Palkia now have a few unremovable paint scuffs and don't light up anymore (I removed the original batteries that exploded and probably damaged those mechanisms). Giratina is now missing a wing too. I'm still glad to have them back in my collection though!
The Giratina in particular had potential to be a high quality figure for its time in 2008, but the wing design was a poor choice. They fit very loosely into the back and I remember them falling out often, even when I got it brand new at Toys R Us. You'll find a lot of these figures listed on eBay without wings. I have yet to see just the wings for sale, and I don't have 3D printing capabilities, so mine will likely remain this way!

Pokemon Figure Collection are just Tomy figures branded under a different name. Groudon is a Christmas gift from mayziken! Last month, she visited Nintendo New York and found this Groudon at the store, which is wild to think about, considering it's copyrighted 2010! Why did they still have this 12-year old dead stock? Coincidentally, that old forum friend who sent back my Jakks figures, also included these Latias and Latios they had from the same series!

Since I already have Heartland Lucario, it only made sense that I pick up the new Pokemon Center version as well! I also adopted  nosfurrettu's Heartland Dialga!
