What's everyone feeling in respect to gen 9? I feel like each gen seems to comes quicker and quicker but maybe that just because I'm getting old haha! I'm cautiously optimistic, trying not to get super hype because I was burnt really bad by gen 8... The starters are cute though! Sprigatito is the one I'm most interested in right now, followed by Fuecoco then Quaxly (my least favourite). Keen to see what they all evolve into.... Please let Sprigatito's evolution turn out cool 🙏

I really love where they went with Legends Arceus so I'm interested to see how much carries over into Scarlet + Violet gameplay wise, I'm happy they're trying full open world! The graphics look pretty rough but you know, what else can you expect haha. I'm keen for a Spanish inspired region!

From what I've gleaned from comments about Sprig, people were disappointed with the reveal of Incineroar. I was more focused on Popplio and trying to avoid any mention of any evos because that's a big big spoiler for me.

Oh yeah, when Incineroar was revealed I was super disappointed, mainly because they teased us with Torracat being a quadruped haha! As long as I go in expecting Sprigatito to be bipedal I think I'll be fine~

I like knowing the starter final evos but not random encounter Pokemon! Hopefully we can both avoid leaks this time around!

I also thought each gen came quicker and quicker too! So I went and did some google, and it was usually 3-4 years between each generations. Swsh was released Nov 2019 so it's a similar time gap. But I guess we probably felt gen 9 was quick because BDSP and Arceus was released not long ago.

I was really disappointed about gen 8 too but I enjoyed Arceus so I guess I am more or less neutral. I seldom pick fire starters but I will probably pick the croc since it looks silly lol

Yeah it's the usual timing, I dunno I feel like they explore the region less and less every gen or something so it just feels... Unfinished? And because they did release BDSP and Arceus with no connection to Galarian Pokemon or anything it feels so weird to me haha! I dunno, maybe I'm being too picky. Just a shame I guess. 😕

I'm in the same boat!! I'm feeling kind of hype at the moment just because of the starters but other than that... They really need to take a leap and not a step but they don't really have the time to do it. Fuecoco is a sweetie! I'm really keen to see what it evolves into! I'm thinking it'll be fire/poison, fire/dark or fire/dragon.

I feel like it is too quick too!

I think I'm in the minority here as I didn't mind SwSh gameplay (although the storyline was kind of lacking) and I loved the interactions with the gym leaders. BDSP was disappointing for me. I loved Pearl when I played it and was looking forward to the remake but playing SP, I felt that it was all just so half-assed (I can't really put my finger on why).

I'm trying to play Legends Arceus and adapt to the gameplay. I've never really played open world rpgs so it is a real challenge for me to remember so many buttons! I like the sneaking up on pokemon to catch them! So I really hope that there are not too many of the game mechanics from Arceus!

Very quick! I feel like there's so much left undone with gen 8 😔 It wasn't my favourite gen but I dunno I feel like recent gens have felt unfinished (not just game wise but merch and lore etc).

I didn't even bother with BDSP haha! I think the feeling of half-assedness is because it's a 1:1 remake including graphic style. If they made it SWSH graphics it might not have felt quite so bad.

Ooh I hope you enjoy Arceus! I didn't think I'd even get it but caved a few days after release and have had a lot of fun with it. I think they'll probably take a lot from the game play of Arceus especially since it's done so well. I'm interested to see what they bring across and what they leave as Arceus only. c:

I wish I hadn't bothered with BDSP. Yeah I think it may have been better if they had revamped it like they did with ORAS. Oh well, live and learn.

Maybe I haven't spent enough time playing Arceus to get into it properly. I've been quite busy since buying it so i have only played it for an hour or so here and there. I want to enjoy it but I don't know...

Hopefully the next remake won't feel so cheap... I can't believe B+W will be next on the list. 8I

I hope you enjoy it with more time spent! I just felt like it was super refreshing and loved the pokedex focus, it's the first time I've actually wanted to complete the pokedex haha!

Cautiously optimistic as well! This is the first gen in a while where I don't mind any of the starters, but so far I vastly prefer Sprigatito and Quaxly. As long as the cat stays on 4 legs, I'll probably get it. I'm still feeling disappointed about Incineroar years later ( ... )

Haha I feel that with Sprigatito too! I'm trying not to get my hopes up for all it's little tootsies to stay on the ground but a girl can dream... Yeah Incineroar still hurts. We were so close. u_u

Definitely! I think it's just a time problem really, not being given enough time to fully realise their projects (not just this game of course, all of them haha) even if the base idea is good. Oh yeah, 100%, I wish the standard was higher because only getting a step in the right direction isn't really enough now.

Yeah I can't believe B+W is next in line for remakes. Feels so wrong haha! I don't mind the faithful remake angle, I just could NOT deal with the art style they chose. So hopefully if they go that way again they at least make it look nice haha!
