Complete Pokemon Trading Figure Collection (Part 2)
The Unnamed Third Set- AKA The Third Wave:
This is probably the rarest sight: the complete third set entirely on their original bases. Even though none of these were officially released before the game was cancelled, many were put into mass production so most of these figures are as easy if not easier to find than the first set. However, 3-5 of them are perhaps the rarest figures of all. For instance, you'll notice that Minun on the checklist is blacked out and differently shaped than the figure. This is because for years it was only suspected that Minun was the last figure and it took quite a while for one to be found to prove it. I was super lucky to find it and a few of the others to complete the set.
The Promo Figures:
The nine promo figures that were released intermittently. Dialga was particularly difficult to get, but it came up for auction on eBay a few months ago. I suppose it shouldn't surprise anyone that Pikachu is the only Pokemon that had two figures made for this game (there's one in the first set too).
Custom Designed Figures:
These are two custom made fake figures since the last two Kanto gym leaders were never officially made. I got these as well as many of the rest of my figures from HamsterBomb, though I don't know who sculpted them.
It felt appropriate to show the whole group of Gym leaders together.
Custom Painted Figures:
Finally, I have some figures custom painted by HamsterBomb. Some match their shiny forms, others don't, but they all look awesome. The grey paint unfortunately rubs off super easy, so it's a little splotchy on those figures, but otherwise they're beautifully painted.
