2013 tomy posable mewtwo plush: a refurb story

one of the most pricey mewtwo plush on the market right now (at least the american and european market) is the tomy 2013 posable mewtwo. i'm not sure exactly why? but i've seen it listed for upwards of 300$ usd. and wow owch. so when i saw one from a US seller that was going for a fraction of that amount, i nabbed it.

yeesh $300? XD I remember back when I was still going to anime cons, I believe it was at AX maybe year 2014 or 2015 where I saw a vendor offering them brand new at like 30 bucks. 30! I already got mine right before going to the con though and remember paying around $40 for it, and back then I was already salty to find it cheaper there even if it was just a few bucks less lol.

But wow amazing job on the restoration, I sure bet the plush appreciates it too TwT

yeah it's absolutely an inflated price and i'm honestly not sure why, because it doesn't even seem all that rare! i guess because it's posable..? the paki-paki mewtwo used to be obscenely priced too but has come down a lot in recent years!

I love your Mewtwo collection, it’s absolutely amazing! I also really like how the new guy is cradling the bell plush like a baby, very cute :3

i always want to show the bell plush off like front & center because i'm so proud i still have it! i thought FOR SURE it was lost at one point, then was moving bags of old stuffed animals out of my mom's attic and...heard the jingle. fate totally didn't want me to lose that bell plush!!

the paki paki mewtwo coulda held him i suppose, but given how much work i put into this guy i think they're meant to be buddies |3

Wow, didn't know this guy was that pricey.
I'm sorry you got such a filthy plush; but at least you didn't pay that crazy amount.
Anyways, great job on the restoration and cleaning. I had a lot of fun reading the whole process.

Ya i mean to be fair 300 i believe are for mint condition ones, but 160/180 is common ... maybe bootlegs drive prices on real ones up? But yes, worth the elbow grease!! Ty!!

Oh man was he grubby! You did an amazing job cleaning him up though. Your collection is looking rad too! I had no idea mewtwo had this many plush. I really love the one holding the bell plush like a lil baby.

Not as many as mew or charizard.. but mewtwo does have more than most "cool" legendaries it seems like!! (Vs "cute")

it was sooooo grody lmao like youd roll the lil chest armor up a bit and just see a line where the filth stopped and the protected fur was clean under it...
