MFC Studio Latios and Latias
Hello Everyone ! It's been a while since I got this incredible statue, and I just figured out I didn't post any picture of it here ! Today is the day I show it to you !
I have so much to say about this statue, I will try to be as brief as I can !
Latias and Latios are part of my favourite pokemon, and I was really hoping to find one day a gorgeous item with both of them. And the day came when I saw the preview of this figure. It represents Latios and Latias in Altomare, the city were they appear in the 5th Pokemon movie.
To be honest, it was not exactly what I wanted. There is actually 2 version of this statue : the night version (the one I have) and the day version (The one I would have liked), but the second one was already sold out when I found it. Here's the preview of the day version !
Honestly, I was really happy to have the other though. The night version is truly gorgeous too and they are very similar anyway. So I reserved mine and waited soooo much, to finally see it coming at home <3
And this is were things started to get complicated. I knew from the beginning it will arrive in spare parts and that I would have to assemble it, but I could never imagine how ANNOYING it would be... Some pieces were so small, it was a real pain to put it in place. Even building's shutter were dismantled and it was awful to put them in place... I had to finish it with glue, and it caused me some troubles (on Latias especially).
The base you see under the water is not fixed with the rest of the statue, and there's no way to fix them together, so it's pretty worrying when you want to move the statue.
But the worst of all, Latios arrived with a broked wing.
It is not noticeable anymore as I repaired him, but trust me I was pretty upset to receive a collector figure broken. The most annoying part of it was the fact that the box (the one which contains all the figure's parts) was totally neat and full of foam to prevent parts from moving, so I think he was already broken when he was put on, and I'm still mad thinking about it.
Talking about the box, I will show it to you, as it is pretty impressive ! (And the artwork is really cute)
Despite the fact this is a HUGE box, the figure itself is about 30cm, and is really heavy ! It is the foam, so thick to protect it all, that justify the need of a big box like this one XD
But now the box is just filled with bandai kids figures (I should find the time to post about them one day !)
To talk about the figure himself (once assembled), it is exactly what I expected. Paintings are perfect, there is tons of small details, and I don't think I could find a better statue than this one. But this is the last time I order a so complex figure of MFC, due to all the problems I had with.
