Pokemon Zukan / Zuken Collection Update (P7)
Hello there again! I'm back with another collection update!
Before anything else..and I will have to stress this..
DO NOT TALK ABOUT GEN 8 ON THIS POST (reasons under the cut)
The collection's still growing strong, and with more still to come even after this post, so in another couple months I'll be here again. Anyway, I decided to make a composition shot again of all the new stuff, to lure ya'll into under the cut.
As always though, this post is image heavy, be aware of that when opening the cut (do it in another tab)

As always, I'll list all the new gets first. Usually I'd say "BOLD" means it's a grail, or 10/10 item, but that's become kind of pointless when new stuff keeps coming out each month, nearly always with at least one 10/10 item. So, I'll just list them.

Before the pics come, I'd like to explain my gen 8 statement.
I'm trying to avoid ALL spoilers. Literally everything. I do now know anything about the games other than what was shown in the very first trailer back in like, February or something. Thus far I've managed to do so, at some cost. Avoid popular Poke Youtubers I like, stuff like that. I'm treading very carefully when it comes to Poke stuff now, even going to this site was a tiny bit of an ordeal with the whole "GEN 8 DISCUSSION" post pinned and all. For several games in a row I've tried to avoid leaks and spoilers, but watched the trailers, and basically everything was revealed in there. I remember playing Sun and Moon and being bummed out about not finding more than 2 new pokemon. With USUM I managed to mostly not get spoiled.. even there though, through random youtube thumbnails in related videos, of Red, and Rocket Grunts, I got spoiled anyway. And of course, basically no new pokemon in those games. (Doesn't help that it's basically Sun and Moon other than 5% of the game...) This time though, I want to do it right. No new pokemon, no story spoilers, no music, no teams (if there even is one), no further region spoilers. Nothing. I want to go in like I did as a kid, back in the Red/Blue days. This is one of the two official zukans I got this time. It's one of the few ones left of the official ones that was pretty high on my wants list. Of course there's now the King Studio Oddish line too, with the tree and all. I didn't get that one, mainly because of money reasons. But honestly, this small one is still a gem. Fun fact, apparently one in a thousand people like Gloom's smell, according to a Pokedex entry I once read. Everyone else thinks they smell.

Golurk is, alright I suppose. He's fairly big, and the colour scheme is solid. Just not that big a fan of the pokemon itself. I recently (before the Halloween event) got a Gollet in Pokemon GO, and I found this zukan for like 10 bucks or something. That was reason enough for me to buy it. Its arms can move.

This one is a beauty. It was quite hard to get too. Usually these studio zukens have a few weeks during which you can pre-order them. This one had its period before I knew zukens existed. I had to find it 2nd hand, somewhere, but no-one was selling, until I found this eventually. I really like the fossil lines, and Amaura line being all blue, rather than rocky really helps it stand out.

The official fossil zukans have their fossils included in their bases. On the low res pics I'd found of this line, I noticed a block of ice, withe something in it. I assumed it was a Sail Fossil. However, having the zuken now, it turned out to be a frozen Kabuto.

This zuken, what to say about it. There's so much, both to say, and to look at. The process of getting this one was, painful. I'd pre-ordered it on ebay at a price I soon found out was about twice as high as the price on Taobao (which I didn't know yet at the time). It took nearly ten months to arrive. When it arrived, it was broken. One of the ears on one of the Sawsbuck had broken off. I managed to superglue it back into place. One of the antlers had broken as well.. I managed to superglue it back into place too, but in doing so, the other one broke off, too... The thing snapped apart though, so no gluing that. I contacted the ebay seller, and explained it all. I got a replacement part, which took again like 2 months, but at least the set is now complete again.. However.. the base has these little holes that fit the hooves of the Sawsbuck in.. they don't match the right seasons. I ended up using bluetac to put the right ones at the right place. So.. yeah, that all this soured the mood, especially given how much I paid for this thing. That being said though.. it is so gosh darn pretty, despite all these flaws.

This is another fossil set! It even includes the Old Amber! It's actually part of 3, I decided to only get this one though, as I already had the official ones of Omanyte and Kabuto.

Maybe not the most flashy zuken out there, but I quite like it. In Black, which I played after White 2, for complicated reasons, I decided I wanted to make a team of "The Weird Pokémon".. Stuff like Garbador, Vaniluxe, and Chandelure. I really didn't like those pokemon, and for that exact reason I wanted to learn how it is to use them. I should note, Ferrothorn/seed I did already actually like. I think they just look sorta cool, but figured I could still put them on the team, as they're.. well, unsual, and I still needed a grass type. Using this thing with a rocky helmet is just so much fun. Seeing the opponents basically kill themselves. That was so lovely. I just had to get the zuken of them.

Rats! The small dirty and dusty corner of the house fits so well with them. I wouldn't want a rodent of this size going around in my own house though.

More rats! A months and a bit later, the Alolan forms of these guys were announced. Naturally I decided to buy them, too. This base is possibly even nicer. With the little wood supply, and the foot steps coming from the rat hole.
You can sort of combine them.

Lugia, the king of the sea (or is that Kyogre?). What a magnificent bird, the biggest, too. It's also currently the biggest Zuka(e)n I own. (Though not for much longer). Steelix is a close 2nd though, it IS quite a bit heavier though. The official Lugia zukan was a lottery figurine, with just 2000 made in total. I definitely still want it as well. This one though, has such a fantastic pose, along with the wave. The only real downside is the part on its back. I'm not really sure why they made that into a click-on part. Especially not sure why they made it not quite fit right, giving this ugly seam. It's bothering. Even with that, I really like this one.

Ho-oh's been my favorite Legendary for quite some time now. I really like birds, and Ho-oh is just the most majestic phoenix feathered bird of them all. I actually already have the official lottery figure, but this, damn. This is next level I must say.

Another zuken of which I already had the (quite rare) official zukan. I still like the original too, but I'm really a sucker for special bases. It's not very big, but still very quite nice!

The two Ho-oh side by side! It's clear how much more vibrant the new one is, though that may be due to it being newer. I love both. .. I kinda want to get another one, of either, and paint it shiny.. Shiny Ho-oh looks bloody amazing.
