(I hope WCT makes Jangmo-o’s evolutions. They are making an Alolan Sandslash. I really want evolution lines to be completed.)
Thank you to the mods for accepting me into this group. I’ve been collecting the TCG for years, and recently have started collecting figures after getting my first WCT figure a couple of werks ago.
I’ve had the Hasbro Salamence since 2010, and I’ve had the TOMY Mewtwo, Machamp, and Hawlucha for a while as well. While TOMY released great figures, I always felt like TOMY could have released more Pokémon as figures, considering we have 800 something Pokémon now. One thing that really baffled me is that they released a 2 inch Charmander, a 3 inch Charmeleon, both Mega Charizards, but no regular Charizard. As a result, I could not get into it more, as I felt that the variety was lacking for a big franchise like Pokémon. However, TOMY still made great figures, so I don’t mind getting a few more when I see them for good prices.
Now, fast forward to WCT. The figures/planned figures showcased at the NY Toy Fair caught me by surprise. Gengar would probably be my 2nd favorite Pokémon(behind Salamence), and Gengar is coming in Wave 2 of the 4-4.5 inch figure line, and it’s the one I am most excited for. If you read some of their press release statements, it’ll give you an insight as to why I’m so optimistic about this line overall. For example:
“More than 800 Pokémon have been created, so we’re launching more waves of action figures, which means more Pokémon will be available throughout the year than people have seen in a long time,” Runken says. “We know that’s a huge driver for the trading cards and the games, because people get to interact with more Pokémon in those experiences. We wanted to bring that to the toy line and let people play with action figures and plush in a volume they haven’t been able to before.”

I believe they will try to deliver on this, especially since a newer company like WCT will also trying to make a name for themselves in the long run, and a major pop culture brand like Pokémon will attract fans of all ages, in my opinion. Some Pokémon that I’m personally hoping for are Dragonite, Metagross, Hydreigon, Kommo-o, Rayquaza, Silvally, Aggron, Vikavolt, Lugia, Deoxys, Naganadel, Darkrai, and Zoroark.
