Hey everyone! It's been a few months since I did a gets post, and I can't believe the year is already half over??? what the heck happened... :'| Anyway, I come today with a quick collection update!
These shots are all from a couple months ago; I'm missing some stuff out from other packages in between, but I haven't had the time/energy to take photos of it yet. I'll have another (big) update to do in a few weeks, so I'll lump any of that stuff in with the next one.
Let's get into it!
I'm gonna start with the Gloom stuff, since, as is always the case, there's so much less of it than there is Jirachi stuff, lol.
(From (roughly) left to right: Oddish-line Sealdass, TCG coin, Ichiban Kuji Modern Art totebag, Oddish-line Carddass)
Just a few things this time around! I'm super pleased to have gotten the Carddass and Sealdass sets, I love that vintage Sugimori watercolor art. (Really gotta get around to displaying my flats nicely... :1) The totebag is also gorgeous; most of the Glooms on the bag are on the reverse, though, so that's the side I'll be displaying.
Stinky babies.
And now, the Jirachi stuff! (I told you it'd be quick!)
(From left to right: Pokemon The Movie XY 2014 special edition TOMY figure, Pokemon Center charm, Pokemon Time phone charm, metal figures, bell keychain, retsuden stamp, TCG coin, Rumble U figure, mini menko cards, Pokemon Time candy tin, iron-on patch, McDonalds talking/walking figure, Columbus "Mighty Beanz"-style weighted toy)
A bunch of smaller stuff, and one GIANT child. Some are doubles- the Time strap and Pokecenter charm, for instance, I own already- but they'll show up in a ~*~special project~*~ I'll hopefully be sharing in my next update. The metal figures are super cute and satisfyingly heavy, but they also /absolutely/ cannot stand on their own, so I need to put some thought into how to display them. (Suggestions welcome!) I'm really glad the minimenko came in a pair, because I definitely want to display both the front and back-- it's hard to tell from the photo just how INCREDIBLY SHINY the foiled side is!
shiiiiiine..!!!
And then there's the giant McDonalds figure, which... I wasn't even sure if I would ever bother getting, at first, because it's kind of weird looking? Like, it's very tall and strangely-proportioned, the pose is a little bizarre, and its feet are hilariously big... But I found this one for cheap on Y!J, so I figured why not?
i can't believe i'm getting memed on by a T-posing Jirachi
I popped some batteries into it, and it rolls forward and talks just fine. The figure is kinda meh, but I actually really like the design of the box, it's so cute! Not practical for me to display with my current setup, though, since it's so bulky, so the box is stashed away for now.
And finally, a small handful of non-Y!J items from community members and ebay:
(From left to right: Oddish Friends plush, Jirachi clearfile, Battrio pucks, weighted Pokeball figure, TCG pin, kuttari charm, magnet, Jakks plush, Pokebox major arcana tarot set)
Oddish snuck in for a guest appearance!! Friends plush are all so cute... My surprise favorite from this group of items is the Jakks Jirachi plush. I didn't even know this plush existed until fairly recently; I found it for a good price on eBay, and it's in great condition, so I feel lucky to have grabbed it. I think what I love about it the most is how different its pattern is from other Jirachi plush. A lot of Jirachi plushies can start to feel like scaled-up/down versions of each other, to me, so to find one that looks appreciably different from the other ones was kind of exciting!
Look at its lil' body, with its barely-distinguishable legs! Ahhh!! I love it! Its face is really wide and extremely cute. And look at its head-shape in profile!
Jakks plush on the left, Pokedoll for comparison on the right
I'm so charmed by this weird little banana-headed Jirachi. <3
That's it for now! I'll hopefully be doing another update once my most recent Y!J order arrives, which should be sometime in late July. (I won a big lot that I REALLY wanted, which was great, but it was also wayyyy heavier than I expected, so shipping was brutal. Funny enough, the same thing happened with my last order from ZenMarket, but this time was SO MUCH WORSE LOL. At least I also bought some fancy Kororo gummies to soothe the pain :'1) I would also very much like to finally be able to show off my current display setup for my Jirachi collection; it's too disorganized right now for me to feel good about sharing it, though, and I still need to do something about my flats. Maybe next time!
In the much nearer future- around the end of this week, hopefully- I should be making another post with a small update to my sales, as well as an auction I'm pretty excited about! Thanks for reading!!
