Japan Trip Photos and Gets!

Hey, all! So my partner and I went to Japan in November/December of last year for almost 2 weeks, and it was amazing! It was our first time there, and we got to see and do and eat so much, we even got to meet kitzune! But what you're really here for is the hundreds of dollars I spent on Pokemon, so here are all my gets!

You couldn't get far in Tokyo without finding a game center, and every single one had Pokemon goods! I was way too intimidated to give it a try, and didn't see anything I really wanted. Luggage space was at a premium, so I was only gonna get big items I REALLY wanted!

We made 4 different Pokemon Center trips at 3 unique Pokemon Centers, Mega Tokyo being the first! I was itching to go to a Pokemon Center since we arrived, and I had to wait a full 24 hours before finally going! But inside was heaven! My partner was surprised at how restrained I was, but that was because I knew I'd be spending a lot of money over the course of my trip...

My haul! The Raikou was the only plush I knew I wanted, and he's gorgeous! We learned quickly that we needed stamp books, and the notebook was so perfect. I use the Vaporeon hook magnet on my fridge every day to place my keys. I loved the blindboxes, but I got doubles of a Re-Ment set I already owned, haha.

Before leaving Tokyo, we stopped in Harajuku for an hour, and this was the basement of one shop! Note: if a shop says "Pokemon DOWNSTAIRS," believe them!

Gets from Harajuku and some gashapon! I wound up using the Gengar luggage tag, and I loved it! It got a bit dirty on the journey home, but a Magic Eraser made it like-new again!

Kyoto was a small little section in a large department store, just off to one side. But it had a really nice variety, and was a lot quieter.

My Kyoto PokeCen haul! I entered the Ichiban Kuji lottery (I had no idea what I was doing) and won a Mimikyu plate and an anime clearfile! I got even more food-related things here, like some punch-out Pokemon seaweed and Pikachu silicone cups for bento, and a blind-packaged lollipop-making kit featuring Pokemon molds, my favourite! I got Pikachu and Litten.

The Kyoto PC was huge, and we made the mistake of going on a weekend at the start of December, aka gift-giving season! We were so happy to finally see a Pikachu mascot, but it was so swamped by kids that getting a photo was nigh impossible!

Osaka haul! I had been going back and forth about the Umbreon sweater all trip, and my partner encouraged me to finally go for it! I'm so glad I did - it's the only clothing I bought there, and it's so cute! We desperate needed coasters for our apartment, and when we saw that they had corkboard ones, went went a little wild! The plush was a gift for my Reddit Secret Santa.

And our last trip to the Tokyo Mega store! It was hard deciding what else to get, with our wallets significantly lighter and suitcases already stuffed. We went there with two suitcases, and came bad with the two suitcases, a duffel bag I had brought along, and a brand-new, huge suitcase!

I tried another package of the lollipop set, hoping to feel each package before buying in order to get the Rowlet I wanted to badly, and I got it! The plush was for my brother.

And now some quick roundup photos!

GASHAPON! Oh man, these were dangerous. My partner tried to get the whole Eevee poncho set, and only missed Vaporeon and Glaceon! I got all the ones in the bottom row save for the mug-chu, and I had very good luck getting what I wanted! I even got my Scyther on the first try! :D

This is ALL of the Pokemon stuff my partner and I got from Japan! A few items on the bottom left were my partner's purchases, like the It's Demo Christmas ornament and Snorlax terrarium, or gifts for friends, like the Mega Charizard X zukan and Groudon chess piece. I also opened the Mimikyu plate and Skytree pin, and you can see things like our pan stickers, scrap stickers, and Ga Ole pieces!

Nerdy as it is, these were all of the Pokemon food items we got in Japan! A few of the things we were on the lookout for were the Pokemon vending machine drinks and Pokemon pan! We managed to collect all 5 bottles of the drink, which was a veggie/fruit juice I didn't like very much. Members of the comm helped us find Pokemon pan, which I had desperately wanted to try, and I loved it! We had pan for breakfast every day, and if we could get Pokemon pan, so much the better! There were pancakes and croissants, and the Necrozma ones were buns willed with red bean paste or meat. Miki also brought us to a Magikarp taiyaki place, and of course I kept the wrapper from that! We also got cookies and ramen and Vulpix yokan and all kinds of cute stuff! <3

Japan was amazing, and we already want to go back! Of course I regret not buying even more stuff, and that we were there before the permanent Pokemon Cafe opened. I was also disappointed that a lot of the secondhand shops in Akihabara mostly only had relatively new Pokemon goods, though we did still find some great items, like the Caitlin pin and Mega Charizard zukan. But I absolutely love all of the stuff we got, and I'm really satisfied with our shopping trip! I'm happy I got to try an Ichiban Kuji, and Pokemon Ga Ole, and eat all that Pokemon food! It was really a great time, and I hope everyone who wants to gets a chance to go!
