Hello everyone! My name is Cass (or you can call me Denryu if that's more comfortable for you). I'm 26 and from Michigan. I've been playing Pokemon for basically my whole life -since the red/blue days. I have lots of merch, but I never really started collecting anything in particular until about last October. And since then I've gone a little crazy, lol.
I've been a member for many months now, but I'm mostly a lurker due to my social anxiety. Hopefully I'll post more in the future! You may have seen me buying some things here and there, however. :)
If you couldn't tell, I'm an Ampharos collector. Eventually I'd like to collect the whole line, but I figured I'd start with my absolute favorite so as not to break the bank (right away).
Anyway, I'd like to show off my small collection and see what you guys think so far! Pics will be below the cut. WARNING: PIC HEAVY!
First, I'd like to say that I don't really have anywhere to put my collection at the moment, so figures are on my computer desk and plush are on the floor. Sorry for the poor quality pics, lol. I'd also like to mention that I want to collect every mold, model and pattern that exists and that means that there's a fair amount of booties in there. Sorry. ;U; But if I have the choice between something official and a boot, I'd prefer to have the official one. Unfortunately I did not care about this so much when I first started out collecting, so there's a few plush I'll be looking to replace in the future (mega and all-star). But if there's an unofficial item that looks substantially different, then I want that too. Shrug. Please don't hate me.
And I wanted to show some new gets! I haven't seen too many posts about the Construx kits! Originally, I didn't really care for the way they looked in the pictures and I wasn't planning on getting any but when my husband and I found them in the store, we couldn't resist. So, pics below the cut!
As you can see, we got Gyarados, Abra, Ivysaur and Magikarp.
Abra is kind of difficult to pose in a way that makes him look good and I personally don't like the way he looks standing up at all, but I think he looks pretty good sitting here.
Ivysaur is very nice. His vines are made of a very soft rubber, so unfortunately they do just pop right back into position and you have to brace them against parts of his body to get them to stay where you want them too. Not too big of a problem overall as it's still relatively easy to get him into a nice pose.
Gyarados is definitely my favorite. He's a lot bigger than I expected and he's really well done, IMO. His ball joints are very stiff so once you pose him he'll stay that way and won't droop or move a bit. We used an extra Lego piece we had lying around the house to pose the Construx Magikarp with him and I think it looks very good together. Originally I didn't want to get Magikarp, but my husband insisted that if we got Gyarados that we'd have to get both. I'm glad we did! :P And I've included the choco ball Magikarp here for a size reference.
So that's all for now. Hope you enjoy the pics! :) And expect to see a wants post sometime soon. There's still a ton of Amphy's out there that I don't have!
