Introduction, Cool Gets, and Trades!
Hello fellow collectors! I'm InkWaffles12. I've been a member of the comm since 2013, but I never got around to introducing myself. This is my first time posting to lj, so let me know if I have formatted anything incorrectly. I wanted to show off my collection, but the pictures I had taken got deleted (whoops), so have some pictures of my most recent gets instead.
My first Pokemon game was Sapphire, though I loved the franchise since it first hit the US. My sister and I accumulated a lot of Pokemon merchandise over the years. Though she eventually grew out of it, I never did. Some of my favorite Pokemon are Swampert, Flygon, Milotic, Gastrodon(East), Persian(Kanto), Typhlosion, Braviary, Ampharos, Hawlucha, and Toucannon.
I first found this community while trying to research some childhood toys of mine; the Shiny Hasbro figures. I had owned all but two since childhood and I wanted to complete the set. PKMNcollectors was the only place I could find information on them, and I joined after lurking for nearly a year. At first I thought I would collect anything that struck my fancy. Pretty quickly though, I realized that I loved merch featuring shiny Pokemon, so now I'm a shiny collector. It fits, since it was shiny merchandise that first brought me to the community. I also collect other semi-canon color and form changes (Such as the Orange Island Pokemon, the Pokken player 2 colors, and Shadow Lugia). I mainly collect figures and plush, but recently I've begun to casually collect the TCG, flats, and other misc. items.
Maybe some of you recognized the teaser image as the box for one of the sets of Hoenn Shiny Kids figures. I was under the impression that you received only 5 figures in each box, with some figures being rarer than others. Despite this, I won an auction for a whole set of figures +box. Does anyone know for sure how these were released (maybe someone can translate the back of the box for me)?
The box itself if pretty beat-up, but I'm still really excited to have it. I think I could break it down, and flatten the whole thing under some books if I ever decide to display it nicely.
25 MIP shiny kids figures! If that doesn't make you excited, that I don't know what would. (Ignore the fact that i missed a couple, lol). I'm not sure if this is their original packaging, but they sure do look nice. There are no scratches or paint rubs to be found.
I've been collecting for awhile, so I actually had about half of these figures already (the rest will be up for trade below). These are the 14 I'm keeping.
Don't these three look good together?
I'm so glad I finally have these two! I bought a pair of them awhile ago, but they got lost in the mail :(. But now I have a set to call my own!

I'm hoping to trade for the Shiny Leafeon, Glaceon, and/or Salamence kids, but I'll consider trades for any shiny merch I don't have yet. I haven't made a wants list, but I don't have the following shiny kids: alternate pose Mudkip/Treeko/Torchic, Charmader, Charmeleon, Bulbasaur, Venusaur, Squirtle, Balstoise, Empeleon, Infernape, Swellow, Snorunt, Pachirisu, and Buneary.
I'm also having a heck of a time getting the Extremespeed Genesect Keshipoke (the secret figure from BW set 5 I think), and the Orange-Island 'polly pocket' Vileplume figure (it came in the mini playset with Lapras). Let me know if you have these for sale!
Is anyone else super pumped for the Shining Legends TCG set? I pre-orderd a Japanese booster box, and I'm trying to convince myself I don't need another. I saw that the US is getting an $80 Premium Collection Box. I'm really hoping that the artwork features shiny Pokemon; the Elite Trainer Box's color scheme (brown!) was disappointing.
