This doesn't really have anything to do with collecting, but it's Pokemon related so I thought I'd talk about it here. Starting around 2009, I started to get really bad OCD about death. I've never liked it, but it got to a head around that point. It's since been improving, but nonetheless, various commercials, internet ads, and references to things related to death typically get me very anxious or tic-y or uncomfortable. This extends to Pokemon too. When I saw the XY legendaries, I liked Xerneas more. And that happens to be a good thing, because Xerneas is the Pokemon of Life. So that makes Yveltal... well although it's not explicitly stated in the game, it says the Pokemon of Destruction, but pretty sure it can be inferred as the Pokemon of Death anyway. So naturally whenever I see him, i start feeling adverse. I don't want to feel like that with a Pokmon, cause at least Yveltal is cool looking. Since I collect Pokemon plushes, I got a Xerneas once I caught him in my game, and I love him. (her?) I even got a shirt of him from Pokemon Center. But there's Yveltal... one of the things my therapist does is promote the "fuck it" mentality and just expose myself to my stressors, as uncomfortable as it sounds, but with the purpose of with enough effort, becomes less negatively meaningful. So I had considered getting the big plush Yveltal to add to my push group, but no doubt I would start feeling subconsciously concerned. I've been burned by a bad coincidence before, when Michael Jackson died, I also mentioned Billy Mays being the same age, and guess what, he died days later. So I've been wary about getting close to anything symbolic, cause it would FEEL like I've opened a can of worms I'm not trying to. So getting this plush would be semi-counter-inuitive to me, but has a point to it. So I guess I'm saying it's no rush, but that might be on my list of plushes to get. Though not one I'm super excited about getting as much as other ones...
On a related note, no Pokemon Z, so I can't catch one for myself in the game unless I buy Y! D: I have a really good name for him too, one I wanted to use for a dark legendary since Diamond, but didn't quite fit Darkrai, but DOES fit Yveltal pretty well. Asmodeus, the name of a demon as well as a villain in an RPG called Star Ocean.
