Today, it’s been 19 years since Mum’s mum passed away after a two year battle against bowel cancer. She had been diagnosed with hers the month before Mum was diagnosed with lung cancer, and their passings were within months of each other (Mum’s was January 13, 1997). I coped alright, but I think it may be I don’t have a lot of memories of Nana since I didn’t get to see her a lot when she moved to Sunshine (outside of Melbourne) to live with my aunt, uncle and cousins.
Yet again, my health is getting worse. The other day, I almost fainted again, this time after walking across the road to the postbox and back. My doctor is still not helping by focusing on one symptom (nausea) instead of looking into the pains I get in my hands and feet (feels like someone smashed the bones inside with a sledgehammer) and my near-fainting spells (I’ve now had three and one blackout since I got whatever this is).
On the lighter side of things, has anyone here seen Sherlock Hound/Meitantei Holmes? It’s a kid-friendly adaptation of Sherlock Holmes set in a world of anthropomorphic dogs. It’s quite charming, and considering six of the episodes had been directed by Miyazaki Hayao, it’s not surprising. The heroes are all loveable, Mrs. Hudson is younger but is a seriously awesome character in one episode especially, the villains can be comical, oneshot characters that Hound/Holmes and Watson help can be memorable (I especially love a little girl named Polly)...it’s just fun, amusing, full of heart and...simply wonderful to watch. I’m not really into the adventures of Sherlock Holmes, but for the reasons I’ve said, I am loving this series! (Those same reasons were also responsible for me finding a fondness for The Great Mouse Detective.)
I'd encourage you to see other doctors until you find one who really takes your symptoms on board. :( I don't get why so many docs just don't listen. If they continue to brush your concerns off and ignore things, give them a blummin good telling off! Wouldn't it be nice if we were all paid to be utterly useless! >:0 I hope things pick up!
Ooh I need to check out Sherlock Hound! (Meitantei Holmes sounds a lot better to me, haha) Thanks for reminding me of it, I always liked the sound of it! Especially if Miyazaki has had anything to do with it!
This is the fourth doctor I have seen about it in the year and a half I’ve had whatever it is. Certainly, I’ve had other tests done like ultrasounds of the abdominal and pelvic areas, a gastroscopy, been tested for coeliac disease (don’t have it), but now they keep giving me the same bloodtests that check my iron and B12 levels...but since I have been the same even after having those taken care of, I already know it’s not that. I’m running out of doctors to see at this rate.
I’ve seriously enjoyed it! The sub and dub can be found on KissAnime (you don’t need an account to watch), the dub is also on TMS’ channel on youtube.
