That fuzzy Bulbasaur plush is one of my favorites! I forget what he's called, but he is official.

I have the US version of that Bulbasaur Tomy plush for sale. I'm asking $12 + shipping/fees, which would probably be an extra $4-$4.50 in the US. The US version of that plush was sold at TRU as one of the "all star" plush series; he comes with the original box/tags and looks like this.

This is just a question since you've got one to look at in front of you, but why does his mouth look so nice and well formed in the pic I have up and way more wrinkled, kind of grumpy looking in other pictures of the same plush? I've seen pictures like the one you posted and assumed it was a different Bulbasaur because the faces look so distinctly different.

The one I posted is the US release, which has a slightly different pattern than the Japanese one. This is pretty common with the US versions of the Tomy plush and can be seen on the Eeveelutions as well... but Bulbasaur's differences are much more noticeable. (He's also slightly smaller than the Japanese version, and his bulb is less round.) I'm not sure if they were legally required to use a different pattern or if they were just trying to cut costs for the US release.

I made a comparison post of the Japanese and US versions on my Tumblr.

Aahh okay. Well that finally clears up some of the confusion I was having. I definitely want the Japanese version then, I just think it looks so much better with the cheerful expression. Thanks for your help explaining things though. :)

The Bulbasaur in your pic is the Best wishes plush which is different from the XY Bulbasaur, and the US versions of those plush each look different, so there are four different Bulbasaurs in all (2 JP 2 US) with slightly different faces, and bulbs. The Best wishes plush have grumpier faces and the XY plush have smiles.

I wasn't aware that the US had two versions of the Bulbasaur Tomy plush. Do you have any pictures of the other one?
