Oh hey, seeing you created a picture book is very cool! Are you studying art? Can I write you a message about it or talk with you about that? :x I wanna publish my own children's books in the future too and I am interested in talking to people doing this as well or having tried it out. I will do a 2 years master study program in my home country (Germany) starting next year in the summer and at the same time continue my literature studies. I am a bit afraid of this. Unfortunately, I haven't done a lot of art within the last 2 years but I hope to get back into the thick of things when the study program will start. I love children's books and it would be my dream to make my own ones one day. I have written a bunch of my own stories, but I feel much more comfortable with writing stories than with drawing because I am very inexperienced when it comes to illustration. Though I have a lot of experience in art in general, I haven't really had had the chance to learn a lot about illustration. I could show you some of my art though.
Oh no, i am not studying art! :3 I am actually studying in "Child Psychology and Early Education". I enrolled in the Early Literacy track, which is basically all about writing a children's book so i can definitely give you some tips and check out your illustrations if you'd like! I am more than willing to look through what you have and give you any help if needed ^^
As for the illustration part, don't worry too much about it! :D you can actually hire / partner with an illustrator to do that part. (: the words for the book is most important~
I've attended a Writers and illustrators conference not long ago and could share some tips with you if you are keen! ^^
I just found this picture I made a few years ago when black and white came out... I didn't put much effort into it, so the white gerbil looks a bit strange XD But I thought that other people might enjoy it, too. ^^
My boyfriend gave me a huge stack of old Energy cards (he used to collect as a kid but not anymore) so I started repurposing them by painting on them. They're very simple but I'm having fun. Thought you guys might like to see! :D
Oooh these look awesome :O This might acgtually be a pretty good idea for taking on commissions :) I am 100% sure there'll be a lot of people who'd commission this.
