Also, very personal question. What kinda jobs do you guys have? I know some of you guys go to college and still do massive pokemon collecting and I can barley stomach thinking about my tuition.

I actually work as an arcade attendant for Namco xD and I also am going for my Bachelor's degree in Computer Science my major is Computer Animation. Tuition is a tough thing to deal with and I can tell you I have put a lot of my Pokemon purchases on credit which wasn't very smart. I am currently looking for a new career to go into because I am in the last year of my college now. Money management is a huge responsibility but don't let it scare you. Always remember we are here to enjoy our collections and sometimes to do that we must also limit ourselves so we aren't regretting our collection.

That sounds so fun. I'm pursing in something related to medicne/chemistry related which will pay well but I'll be in debt for a while.

I write soap opera scripts for a local network here at the Philippines. :)
I'm not in college anymore, obviously, but I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Creative Writing, with drama as my genre.

I worked as nursery animal keeper (specialized in birds) during the whole 2014 year. But I actually stopped because I need a little surgery for my health. I found a parrot breeder to give me some babies for handfeeding during the summer (if I can)
I'd like to try falconry next. :'D

I wanted to be a vet but I can't deal with all the animals that are in pain. ;n;

Ah yeah it's really hard for me too but it's a part of the job.

may I ask how you found a position like this? My goal is to have my future and career revolve around animals, and am currently trying to figure out what cool things I could do / accomplish! Any advice and information would be appreciated!

I'm currently working in the bird division at my university's museum, and I'm thinking to maybe go to school to become a vet tech? But then maybe specialize in doing vet tech stuff with wildlife rehabs and such??? ...but I just am at a complete loss of what exactly to do!

I also volunteer at this place called the Creature Conservancy where I work with a laaarge variety of animals (armadillos, cravens, emus, skunks... you name it!) so I hoping that experience will be good for my future goals!!

gaaah too much to think about!

To be honest I wasn't planning to became an animal keeper in the first time. I've studied arts to become an illustrator or something like cartoonist. But I changed my mind because even if I love to draw I don't want to do it until I get sick of it. So I've continued my studies in design and communication. After being graduated I've worked for a year at the communication in my town hall. The next year I changed my carrier plans again (being all the day in front of a computer was really boring for me) and I was taken in the biggest bird park of France (yes, I'm french) for 2 months of traineeship as animal keeper. Everything went fine so they kept me for the rest of the year and I have been working in the nursery. Of course they took me for an essay the first week but my colleague said I was really good with the babies ( ... )

When I was in college, I worked part time as a cashier at a Panera Bread. I was able to fund a little bit of my collection that way, but I didn't go overboard because I didn't make that much there. I didn't worry about tuition a whole lot back then since I took out student loans. Now that I'm out of college, I work full time at a broadcast media group making news graphics. Most of my money is used towards rent, paying off my student loans, insurance, other bills, etc, since I literally pay for everything on my own; but whatever is left over I use to buy Pokemon. I guess it helps that I've been living with my boyfriend to help split the costs of living, haha ( ... )

I never bought those Pokedolls that were $30 ;___; They were listed everywhere on eBay back in 2010, but since I didn't have a lot of extra money at the time, I never bought them. Such a shame too seeing that Dragonite and Poliwhirl go for $100+ these days. *eternal sad face*

I'd love to get all the pokedolls but at the moment I only really like to collect my favorites. It kinda helps keep costs down. A togekiss pokedoll with tags is honestly a grail, which probably isn't a "big grail."

Yeah, only collecting your favorites definitely helps with budgeting. And that Togekiss is still a good grail! Your grail is whatever you'd like it to be, no one can judge you for something like that, no matter how big or small :D I'm sure over time you'll get a decent amount of Pokedolls, even if it's not "all" of them ;]

I unwillingly started out as a housekeeper in a hospital a few years ago, and now i am a housekeeping supervisor in a very nice hotel! I love my job! It's hard, yet rewarding. It isn't my dream job, but it's great to be happy with a job even though it isn't what i wish i could be doing. I guess being forced to do something i wasn't excited or willing to do turned out to be a great thing for me. C:
