My overly-detailed intro!!

Hello PKMNCollectors! I've lurked for the better part of 6 months after discovering this community through Bulbagarden and joined within the past 2 weeks. My name is Kristin, I'm 25, and live in NJ, USA (pretty much IRL Southwest Unova, assuming the geography is stretched, hence my username). I'm currently finishing up my second masters degree in a writing program.

I became a Pokemon fan in 1999 at age 11 when I saw my neighbors and schoolmates' TCG cards, and through that was how I got into it. I finally got a Game Boy Color in 2000 and my first game was Silver. I also saw the first three movies in theaters and occasionally caught the TV series while skimming the channels before school.

As I approached high school and Gen III was announced, I lost the majority of interest in the franchise. (Gen III's incompatibility was one issue, but only a small part of the reason.) I considered Pokemon to be something from my past that held a place in my heart. The only things keeping me in touch with the franchise were the Legendary Birds (my all-time favorites, especially Moltres), the movies (I managed to catch up with all of them in the late 00s when I was an undergrad), and the general curiosity in which new Pokemon were released.

Fast forward to 2010, when Black and White were introduced. I read further about them and found out that they would be more story intensive and a fresh start. That fresh start convinced me that maybe I should get back into playing the games. Then I looked into HGSS, which took the first Pokemon games I played and made them better and fell in love with them too. So, I bought a DS Lite, HeartGold, and later Black, and don't regret a single thing! I love Pokemon more now than I did as a middle schooler.

Enough intro babble, here's the majority of my collection, with a gazillion pics, separated into multiple cuts:

I really like to collect random plush, as seen in the pic up top. I made a habit to go to Nintendo World every time I'm in NYC and to get at least one Pokemon plush every time I'm there. Combine that with online orders from Japan, all the conventions I attend, and my past two trips to Epcot, the foot of my bed is becoming inundated with plush and figures!

There used to be some extra containers and trinkets on top of this, but they have since been replaced with more Pokemon! (there's a glimpse of some of my unrelated shot glass collection, and yes, I'm also a brony... that's a Tara Strong-signed Twilightlicious slap bracelet rolled up there, but I digress)

Of course I had to get a Substitute and a Gold 'Karp. Vaporeon's currently my favorite Eeveelution and I had always wanted the DX plush. The UFO Catcher Legendary Bird trio is probably my most prized part of my collection and what I would consider my ultimate grail, along with the bird trio keychain beanies from the British Pokemon 2000 Burger King promotion. (the Articuno's peeking under the Subby and Zorua!) I think that big Shaymin might be a bootie, it's face is a little weird and doesn't even have a tush tag. I got it from a New York Comic Con vendor who sold a whole mishmash of stuff.

More. While the bird trio is my main, I would consider Land Shaymin and the Swords of Justice to be my side collections. Chikorita was my first starter ever. And the Sylveon is my first Gen VI merch! I plan to get at least one plush for each Eeveelution.

Egg plushes and a random Pikachu coin holder from Hot Topic.

Here's every single fast food toy I got, or at least all the ones I could find. I was very lucky to get the Mew in its purple ball! (click for bigger pic)

I got all the gold Burger King cards, but some are in a state of disarray because I was 12 and didn't know better, then threw them in the basement for at least 10 years. ^_^'

Some Tomy figures and Moncolle Plus.

I managed to get the original Tomy trio in the original box off eBay, although the box is a little crushed.

More figures: giant and clear Tomys, zukans, chou gets, museum figures, suction cups, Zapdos playset, and an Articuno pencil topper.

The big Moltres Tomy is pretty much still in its original packaging (although its beak poked through the wrapper!).

This is actually a small bank.

The majority of my kid figures. (There's one more Moltres that I forgot to put in this pic.)

Charms, keychains, and jewelry. Once again, bird-dominated but has some others that I really like.

The Eevee necklace is CLASSY. I'm gonna wear it to fancy events and mean SRS BSNS. (I kept the back card somewhere.) The Poke Ball earrings are customs made by an Etsy seller.

These are custom keychains I got from someone in a convention artist alley. (And glitch Pokemon like Missingno are my guilty pleasure!!!!

The TCG binder.

Some of my holos.

My jumbos.

Yeah, I kept all the movie ticket stubs in the binder too. (except the Zoroark movie one from the mall tour because that's how we got the Zorua and Celebi jumbo card)

Stickers: Ensky, pan stickers, kid inserts, game promotions, etc.

More random cards. Some of them were extras that Japanese eBayers threw in with other purchases! So nice of them.

Coins, Pogs, Battrio, medals

Keldeo Gamestop poster, Japanese 15th movie poster, Moltres postcard, HGSS book cover from Nintendo World

BW mall tour book, Gates to Infinity puzzle, and two HGSS bookmarks (I have a Totodile one somewhere.)

Mugs!!! More classy merch. My favorite Eeveelution and my favorite human. (I can relate to N personality and social-wise. I'm totally that socially awkward creeper who adores pets more than humans and considers them friends!)

My shirts.

The back of some of them. The White 2 shirt is signed by I Fight Dragons, the band who played the BW2 event during NY Comic Con last year. (they were on Nintendo Video a couple times)

Scarves! The one on the left is a custom, the one on the right was from Nintendo World's BW2 launch event.

Pins. Reshiram and Zekrom mall tour pins, Moltres 151 can badge, pins I got all the way at Anime North in May, Unova badges by Sanshee, and custom buttons by PurpleKecleon.

More random stuff that couldn't really fit anywhere else. Magnets, DS styluses, stationery stuff, coasters, a Pikachu burger flipper, and customs.

I've got a few more things that I'll showcase in another post eventually just because I don't wanna clog up one post with THAT many pics! This includes some more unusual items.

Pretty much all of these setups pictured here are temporary. I'm at a weird point in my life, finishing up this grad degree, and then will look for a real job and eventually move into my own place. (where I can get a better way to display my stuff!)

Special shoutout to denkimouse for running a GREAT service! (and thanks for answering my questions when I had issues arise!)
