Hi everyone! I'm finally posting a collection update after... probably over a year. D:
Quick reintroduction: I primarily collect mushrooms. Why? They're fascinating. I went a little more into detail on the "why" aspect at my collection site (
Fairy Ring), but it has not yet been updated with the images and descriptions I posted in this entry. That will happen by next weekend the latest.
I also have a side collection of Meloetta items. It's a little odd for me to say I collect Meloetta on the side when her items outnumber the amount of Para and Parasect stuff I have, but it is what it is, I suppose. I'm always on the lookout for new stuff, though! :)
Lastly, my miscellaneous collections are as follows: Charms, where the brunt of my I'm-interested-in-this-pokemon-but-not-enough-to-start-a-collection items lie, Kids, which I collect randomly (much like charms), and finally, season- or promotion-specific Pikachu plush. The remaining plush in my overall collection are just random guys I really happened to like and didn't have the heart to sell, even though they don't really fit in any of my main lines.
Anyway, without further ado-
(Warning: Image and text heavy!)
My biggest collection so far is of the Foongus and Amoonguss line. "Big" is relative in this sense since I can fit all of the smaller items in a TCG tin with room to spare, and the biggest 'shroom plush in existence is the Pokedoll.
Closeup of the individual plush. Can you tell which is which? To my knowledge these are all the official Foongus plush released, plus the only Amoonguss one (the MPC). From top left to bottom right you have the mini Pokedoll plush (sitting atop the real-size US and Japanese Pokedolls), followed by the Amoonguss MPC, and below, the Canvas Foongus and his friend, the MPC. One interesting thing I noticed is that the MPC plush do not have cardboard/cardstock backing on the bottoms of their caps so they bulge out a bit where they connect to the stalks. Also, the mini Pokedoll is the only plush not made of minky.
MPC, side by side. You can see how the bottoms of their caps aren't straight.
There's really no major differences between the US and Japanese Pokedolls. Maybe the US one is a little angrier.
Closeups of some items. Really happy about the purple sticker and clearfile as they were pretty limited (to my knowledge). The AR cards within the Can Badge packages don't correspond to the Pokemon pictured on the badge, oddly.
A few more items. My most recent get is the Shroom-in-the-box, part of an ornament collection from Christmas last year. The strap is one of the first Foongus items I ever received from one of
denkimouse's pickups, though I regret not grabbing the long strap with the name "Tamagetake" on it when it was restocked.
Finally... couldn't resist. :'D The Pokedoll caps are the perfect size for petting. XD
Next up: Shroomish and Breloom!
My entire collection can practically fit on my palms.
Notably MIA: Shroomish and Breloom Zukans. They are my grails, in fact!
Otherwise, my favorite items are the charms and Kids!
Last of the mushrooms: Paras and Parasect
It really is a tiny collection. I'm on the lookout for these guys' Zukans as well. Shoot me suggestions on things I might be missing, too, since I haven't been keeping up with this line as much as I have with Foongus/Amoonguss.
Quite possibly my favorite items overall:
Art by the talented
tomokii and magnets by the awesome
nhim! The frame looks kind of tacky but it's mostly a placeholder until I can find something nicer that actually fits the picture. ^^;
And onto the side collections...
Meloetta!
Not a mushroom at all! Nor even related to a type I like (not too keen on fighting or psychic types, for whatever reason), but I couldn't resist the COLORS!! Did the promo not remind you of Lisa Frank? Plus look at all the squishy everythings! I am especially happy I got the pencil case even though ten years down the road the inner gel stuff will probably evolve into questionable semi-aware muck. ._.;
Chillin'. I felt the squishies were too much when I ordered ALL OF THE MELOETTAS, ALL TOGETHER, but I'm glad I snagged them! They're interactive, kinda!
Step!Meloetta is not too keen on Aria's late-night singing, evidently.
Odd how they're different sizes, but I like them regardless. ^^
And here we have raised 3D stickers, filled with water and floating thingies. :D Dance, magic, dance!
Miscellaneousness:
My Pikas. <3 I am attached to that cute little face. The Raichu canvas is also super adorable. The Pokecen Pika all the way to the right was picked up personally from Nintendo World the first and only time I visited NYC. He's got some pretty awesome memories attached to him. Can't wait to go back!

More lovelies~
Lapras is only Pokemon I have reused on my team each generation. I will go out of my way to hunt for one asap in each new PKMN game I start, so I have a special attachment to her. Togekiss just has the happiest little expression. Munna has a bit of a backstory, too, as does Victini, but I'll save the details for the website. (I feel like I've already typed too much already, lol. Sorry if I'm boring y'all! D:)
Flats!
Clearfiles and such, as more "tokens" of ideas and neat promotional themes I really like rather than specific individual Pokemon. Can you spot the fungi on the majority of these? Missing is my type-focus clearfile (and other pieces of the same collection) but I shall leave that for next time.
Annnnnd finally-
My charms collection. These are Pokemon I really like but don't want to start separate collections for. And I'm currently on the lookout for several more!
- Relicanth
- Sunkern/Sunflora
- Exeggutor
- Togekiss
- Wooper/Quagsire
- Tropius
- Combee
- Chatot
- Carnivine
I'm willing to trade items from my sales post (see below) for 'em.
Thank you! :D
One last thing! I have a few new items up for sale at my sales journal. Check it out if you have a moment. ^_^ Thanks again!
