Appearance: Of medium height and build, Selene's outstanding characteristic is her waist-length black hair, which she typically wears loose. She favors long-sleeved shirts and pants in dark colors, blacks and midnight blues, and tends toward being a wallflower. Very soft-spoken, she tends to avoid eye contact.
Bio: Selene is an only child; her father was a researcher for Sylph Corp. and her mother worked at a local grocery store. They lived in Saffron for a few years, until her father was suddenly laid off, and they were forced to move to Cerulean City so that he could take up another job--which paid less than his Sylph job had. Times were a bit tight, and stress was elevated, which was very unfortunate for the budding psychic abilities of young Selene. Had she been raised in Saffron, she likely would have found guidance in fellow psychics. As it was, she was a freak and an outcast, and her parents had no idea why their daughter had such a hard time fitting in, as the Montgomery psychic talent had skipped a generation with her father, and her mother had only the slightest shred of sensitivity. Selene became more and more withdrawn until her parents pooled together their limited resources and managed to get her a used Pokédex and a Pokémon. The instant the young Selene met the Abra named Shaman, an incredible bond was forged between them, and he became her lifeline, teaching her basics of psychic shielding while becoming her steadfast companion. Selene left home to spend some further time with Grandmother Montgomery, now that she and her parents knew what was the source of her problems, and then set out to become a psychic Pokémon trainer.
Psychic Abilities: Selene's strongest gift is that of empathy, or sensing and broadcasting emotions. She is also strong in telepathy, sending and receiving thoughts, which makes it easy for her to communicate with most Pokémon except for dark types, which resist mental contact. She has limited ability in telekinesis, or the manipulation of objects with her mind; she has been known to teleport much like an Abra when in absolute need to do so, but it tends to be less controlled and more born of necessity. In the area of precognition, she seems to have no talent at all.
