Yay! I figured out how to get
DJ Morgana podcasts again. I had lost them for a while, but after borrowing Kellie's iPod for a little while, it all became clear.
I slept most of the day today, and I'm still dead tired. I guess I haven't been getting enough sleep, maybe working on the so-called sleep debt.
I subscribed to
Kiplinger's Personal Finance this weekend, after reading an article about a non-profit organization that takes investments from individuals and issues microloans to people in impoverished areas of the world. The group has a 98% repayment rate, making it not only a really cool way to invest money but also fairly close to the stability of a money market savings account, which typically has a substantially lower return - 5% on a $1,000 dollar note as compared to 0.85% on the same balance in a money market savings account at the
IUCU. I decided to take a look at stuff like this after I noticed my 403(b) account wasn't gaining as well as I think it should, mainly because it's all in large-cap growth funds, as opposed to the 30-40% it should be. Oops. It's not like it isn't gaining well, just not as well as I think a "very aggressive" portfolio ought to be gaining on the 5-year return.
