Oh, you!!!! Phaedra!!!! Sweetie!!! You're here!!! Welcome back!!! I'm not here much anymore either, but I have been on my profile quite a few times since you have been away and said, "I wonder where Phaedra is now and how she is." I remember you.
I am still happily watching Show. As far as major life developments, I've gotten a Graduate Certificate in Social Science Education since you've been away. Am looking for a job and coming up with pretty much nothing, so working part time at several schools as a sub and I'm teaching Sunday/Hebrew school for a few hours two days a week... Still knitting, crocheting and spinning like a mad knitting-crocheting-spinning thing.
Yay! It's like a party of all the good people I remember from LJ!
Congrats on the graduation! I'm sure you'll find a job, the Universe is holding out to give you the perfect one. I'm still knitting/cross-stitching/painting/sewing and I've added tea making and face scrub making to the list. It seems to multiply. Eep.
I am working on getting up on the internets thru my web page because I have a friend that makes jewelry and she refused to do etsy. We've done a couple of local shows and made enough money that we haven't given up yet. LOL
To be honest I just started knitting again. For a while I cut out doing nothing but working on the marriage. We aren't out of the woods yet, but it's no longer the only thing I can focus on.
Doing shows is good! I'm glad you have not given up. My sister has an etsy and so does pie_andcoffee, but I can't bring myself to do it yet. I'm thinking vaguely of getting in to selling vintage and antique items, but I don't want to have to get a business paypal account because I hate paypal. I'm thinking of growing kitchen herbs in small pots at the end of the summer through the fall and selling them at the Fall Arts & Crafts Festival that my synagogue does every year.
I'm glad things are getting better with you, even if it's not all the way better again. *hugs*
If you ever have any questions about anything knitting, just let me know. I'd be happy to help.
It used to be the comm that digital_wave used to sell her own stuff (vintage jewelry, comics, etc); but she's thrown it open to people at large to sell things. You could give it a look over, see what you think.
I'd keep an eye out for any conventions in the area, too-when I went to Wiscon (a feminist science fiction/fantasy literature con that's deliberately kept small, but very well known in the genre), there were all kinds of artists, photographers, and jewelry-makers there, as well as the literary stuff. Hmmm, also keep an eye out for women's shows, like the Southern Women's Convention, or any local fairs or festivals, and see what stalls they allow. Do you live near a local mall? How much might a kiosk cost to rent? Or a flea market stall?
I'm feelin' a little feverish, trying to come up with ideas, lol. STOP ME, PK!

And on a personal note, do you know about craftgrrl? It's a fun comm where people show off their crafts, and talk about ideas, get suggestions-and they're trying to start up doing
( ... )
Oh my goodness, I forgot how well connected you are! I'll certainly check some of them out for our stuff, I need to get myself a little more together which I'm hoping will start this week.
I'm just starting to learn crochet, and have what I call "the fabled afghan" in progress. I call it that because it's taking so long, it's like a unicorn-you hear about it, but never see it, lol. Well, it's funny to ME! ;D
I'm very proud of myself. I know 4 stitches, can join colors, and do the turns properly. And it's pretty! ~smug face
But I'm eyeing the pattern books with some nervousness. They seem difficult to understand, with all those abbreviations and terms...is there any good book for beginners you might recommend? I can't watch any vids because I don't have a tv, and the sound on my computer doesn't work.

God, I hope so! Incidentally, that seemed to be what the Tarot cards were trying to tell me a few days ago.
I'm glad to see that you're still knitting. I haven't seen you post any projects on Ravelry lately, so I wondered if maybe you had stopped knitting.
Ooohhh, tea making! That sounds fantastic! I love tea! Do you have an etsy or do you just make for yourself and friends?
