Does your world not have this system? Money is the currency we use to purchase things here. It's also our payment for working, and that's where we get it.

Hitting the shopkeepers isn't a good idea, resorting to violence means you may be reprimanded for the action. I don't think anyone would appreciate getting hit...

It exists in many worlds, you're the first person I've met who hasn't heard of what money is.

You take up a job and work on the island. There's a set amount of money you're given called a salary.
