Today's e-mail brings word of a new book from Interweave Press and Cheryl Oberle, who's also responsible for IP's Folk Shawls and Folk Vests, two of my early favorite themed pattern books:
Knitted Jackets
From the looks of the preview, the patterns share a certain aesthetic sensibility with those from Knit Kimono - no surprise, both are IP titles, and their pattern books tend to be fairly identifiable.
So, tentatively - pending a chance to thumb through the entire book and see how many of the patterns I might actually knit - this one's going on my wish list. I'm finding, over time, that the handknits I wear most often (after socks) are outerwear: Jackets, shawls, wraps. In other words, things that work well for someone with the thermoregulatory challenges that come with the territory of being an aging woman. (-:
