So I’ve been at this seasonal job for a week now, and I’ve gotten a lot of over time. 8 hours the first day, then 9 the next three, and 10 on Friday. Looks like the same for next week. I’m doing well, but it kicks my ass at the end of the day. Maybe next week will be easier on my body. A major downside is that I don’t have a lot of other time for a lot of other things, including applying to jobs. I really want to transition into another job once the seasonal job ends, so I really need to be hitting the applications hard. So unfortunately, something has to give. And that’s probably going to be my entries here, and my social network activity. Entries here are probably going to be short and trivial until the seasonal jobs slows down. I just need to work on other, more important things at the moment.
Desert Bus is going on right now! I’m not going to watch as much as I have in previous years though for two reasons. One is the job, but two is my crappy internet connection. 1.5MBS on a good day. It’s DSL, and for some reason it’s from La Crosse. DSL signal degrades over distance, so sometimes the stream will start and stall, much to my annoyance. It’s especially bad during high demand hours (like 5-9pm or so). It makes me frustrated, but I’ll still try to watch as much as I can. And I plan on donating, but not until later in the week. I’m also contemplating waking up early in the morning to watch too, but I don’t know.
