Life is different now. This week, for the first time in for years, I'm getting ready to go back to school full time. I wasn't quite sure this day would ever come, but now it's almost here. My only class this week will be Thursday evening, and I won't have my normal Monday evening class thanks to Labor Day next week. It is going to be a slow start. This should prove to be an interesting experience because I'm not quite sure I'll make it through to the end, and I certainly know it won't be easy. But I think I'm ready for it. If I've done anything over the last two months, then it was preparing myself to be ready.
Part of my justification for moving here at the beginning of July was so I'd have time to find and adjust to a new job; but since I haven't found a new job, it would be tempting to consider the move a mistake. Quite the contrary, however, I'm glad I moved when I did. It gave me much needed time to adjust to the area. I remember I was afraid of moving to Milwaukee, but now I've discovered a lot of things to like, if not about the city, then at least about the area where I live. I've also had plenty of time to establish bills, find out how much my monthly expenditures will be, and to figure out how to get around in the city. I can't imagine the duress I'd feel if I had to do all of this stuff at the same time while starting school.
It feels like I've been on a two month vacation, and I'm ready for something new to come along. I'm coming to the endgame of Persona 3, so once that finishes up, I should be able to fill the void that created with school work. I guess you could say I've been kind of bored. Whiling away my days down here waiting for something to happen. I'm quite ready to go back now. It certainly feels like school is about to start again. The weather has been nicely Fall-ish. And on my bike ride today, I saw plenty of Uhual's and people moving in or out. I can feel it every time I go to campus. There's just something about a college campus the week before school starts...
It's funny how I find symbolic ways to mark "important" millstones. Yesterday, I was just struck with the urge to clean, so I ended up cleaning and organizing most of my apartment. I finally got my bedroom organized too! But there's still more than needs to be done. I'm guilty of just throwing stuff in the closet, so one of these days I should probably go through and organize my closet a little better. But it looks very nice now, and I even vacuumed the floor, so I'm happy about it. It's almost like I was getting everything organized and ready to go. And now, I'm ready.
