Same Old Lang Syne

So I guess there was a holiday recently, cause I got some new stuff. I woulda taken a picture, but I was lazy. Plus it's not all here at my apartment.
First, from Melissa, I got 4(!) Terry Pratchett books, and 2 more from her friends. Much happiness.
From my grandparents, I got money, always good.
From my aunt & uncle (two different sets), more money. Also always good.
From my parents, I got a new hat and gloves, 2 table/floor lamp sets (since they wanted the one I borrowed back), and they got my kitties a really cool fold-up house thingy for them to sleep in. Sofia really seems to enjoy it, which is good.
From my sister, I got a little box with a note in it. That note led to another, and another, and finally to a really really awesome battle-axe. Yay for sharp pointy things!
Also random chocolate and candy and stuff. There's probably more that I'm forgetting, which I'm sure I'll be reminded of shortly.
What I gave was Wizard of Oz DVD to Melissa (following a scavenger hunt of my own, which I thought of long before my sister), a couple little things for some of her friends, some stuff for my friends that I haven't gotten a chance to give to them yet, a Neopets board game and a glow-in-the-dark Tinkertoy set for my sister (she loves Neopets {and if anyone wants to join up, let me know and I'll have her invite you}, and her room is covered in glow-in-the-dark decorations), a R/C toy and a good computer game for my brother, a whole bunch of strawberry kitchen stuff for my mother (she's building her way up to a completely strawberry kitchen), and a car CD player for my dad, since I took back the one out of the family van to give Melissa after hers was stolen. That was also kinda selfish, because I wanted to be able to use it this weekend, as I'm getting to my next point:
I get to visit Melissa for 6 days this weekend!!!!!
I'm a little excited. She's home in NC for the winter break, and that's like almost a month away from each other. So I took a few days off work, and I'm leaving tomorrow night, getting there Friday morning (after sleeping at my aunt & uncles), and not leaving until next Wednesday! Yayayayay! I'm taking the van down, because I'm bringing some of her excess furniture back up here with me. It's gonna be so great, I'm so excited.
So that's pretty much what all is going on right now. Oh, and for future reference - it's not a good idea to forget your checkbook at the apartment complex office when you haven't given them your new (current) phone number, and the address/phone imprinted on your checks is from your last dwelling place in Cleveland :-P
