Free stuff rocks
So, I was driving home from church tonight, listening to 97.1, and I hear the announcer say that they're going to be playing Bowling for Soup's latest song, "1985". Now, my initial reaction is "Cool, I love that song!" Then he says that when you hear that song, call in and you can win the CD it's off of, A Hangover You Don't Deserve. Now that's really cool. This group has a really cool sound, and I was considering getting the CD just for that, but I almost never buy music anymore (no, I don't steal it, I just don't get it). Plus I didn't know if the rest of the songs were as good as "1985". So I got my cell phone and typed in the number, then called and hung up so it would be ready for redial. When the song ends I get the phone in my hand, and get it ready. It's not the song. Put the phone back down.
The song ends. I hear the introductory "woo Woo WOO!" and my phone is in my hand, dialing. The announcer is telling listeners to get on the phone now, and the first three people will get the CD. My phone is ringing, not a busy signal. I'm pumped. I hear it get picked up.
I'm the first caller.
