Wow, it has truly been a long time, since i've updated, mainly because i have been so busy, having a good time. The last weeks have gone by so fast, i cannot believe i am leaving in a week. Thats insane. This summer has truly been, the most amazing time of my life, i have learned so much about my craft, and about life in general. Im really gonna miss New York, the city has somehow embraced me, and i feel at home, and like i can call it "my city" now. I hate times square, and i'm loving neighborhoods in the upper east side, and the village. I realized i never posted my schedule, just incase you were interested. MONDAY: 9-10 Voice ; 10-12 Scene Study ; 12-1 Seminar with Professionals ; 1-2:30 Physical Acting ; 2:30-4 Speech. TUESDAY: 9-11 Scene Study ; 12-2 Classical Text ; 2-4 Singing Interp. ; 4-5:30 Physical Acting. WEDNESDAY: 10-11 Singing Technique ; 11-12:30 Acting Technique ; 2-3:30 Dance. THURSDAY: 9-10 Singing Technique ; 10:30-12 Speech ; 1-3 Singing Interp ; 4-5 Tap. FRIDAY: 10-11 Voice ; 11:30-1 Acting Technique ; 3-4:30 Dance. So thats my schedule, also add a 1 and 1/2 hour commute both ways, and that equals my day, plus seeing shows. Thats why i havent updated. I've done two scenes in Scene Study, The Red Coat..and Proof. Both went well. I am really proud of the work i am doing here, it feels really good, especially the stuff in physical acting. Its so freeing, and awesome. Also, some books i've read while im here (yes, books.) Letters to a Young Poet, Acting: The First 6 Lessons, The Artists Way, and An Actor Prepares. Read them, they are all very good, and helpful. My show count is as follows: Spelling Bee, Sweet Charity, Wicked, Pillowman, Doubt, Lennon, Spamalot, Rent, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, and All Shook Up. They have all been so good, and i am so lucky to have seen so many things. Thank god for Rush tickets, and lotterys. I still haven't paid over 26.25 to see a show. Thats Really good! I also plan on seeing Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and The Light in the Piazza. Some pictures i have included in this entry feature the stage door- meet and greets, if you will, with the casts. Some highlights include Tim Curry, Jeff Goldblum, Billy Crudup, Cherry Jones, and Norbert Leo Butz (who wouldn't pose for a picture..GAH!) oh well. I have also been soaking up the city, and just loving the parks, and loving the streets, and the free stuff. The original cast of rent (minus 2) performed at the Today Show and Bryant park yesterday, and i got to meet IDINA! She was very nice, however she would not pose for a picture. (GAH! AGAIN!) oh well. They sound great, and the movie is going to be awesome. I've been getting ready for the show, on Thursday. I'm excited. It will be fun, i just can't believe this is all going to be over in a week. It seems almost unreal. Im dreading school, just because the way i am feeling, while i am here. But, thats soemthing i cannot avoid. So, without further babble, ill let you look at the pictures, but be forwarned...there are MANY pictures here, just give your computer a few minutes to load them all. alright? ok. im going to bed.
