Yesterday on my drive home from my parents' house I stopped at a gas station to get a few bottles of water for my game. The change that I received came out to be $0.34, so the lady asked me if I had a nickel. I said no, but wondered if she asked me that because she didn't have four pennies in the register to give me. I leaned over to notice that she had plenty of pennies, she was just trying to minimize the amount of pennies (or total coins) that she had to give me. Then after my game I was buying something at Eckerd and the same exact thing happened! My change came out to be $0.84 t his time and again, the lady asked me if I had a nickel but had plenty of pennies in her cash register. Is it true that most people don't like pennies, or is it that they don't like change in general and would prefer to get less of it back. I like pennies, so I don't mind getting 4 pennies back thank you.
