I wish I had pictures I could include in this post, but alas I do not. Anyways...
Sunday morning everyone left for the trip and I felt a bit excluded because I couldn't get anyone to work for me. However, some interesting things happened over the course of the day that changed that. Tony from work called and he told me he could get someone to cover his cook shift and he could cover my wait staff shift. I called Jake and they were in Plymouth. Him and Cara were happy to come get me with a 15 dollar gas fee, but Paul Frank was pissed off about it or something. Anyways, they came and got me and the first stop on the trip was going to Lomira, WI. We visited Mike Lau at the Burger King there (we actually smoked up in the kitchen area of Burger King... by the way, don't ever eat there because its horribly dirty and unsanitized). We went to fireworks city and I saw Mallory, who I haven't seen for awhile. Then we went to one of Mike's friends graduation parties. It was kind of lame. But after that we hung out in another friend of Mike's garage, had a bunch of Jagey-bombs, had a good time chatting with this kids sister and mom, who made a half-assed attempt to tell us we shouldn't drink because we're underage. After that, we went to Mike's house and continued doing the same kind of thing we were doing all night on his porch. Then we watched Identity in his room and passed out.
The next day we promptly got breakfast at McDonalds (not Burger King, we learned our lessons) and we proceeded to head to Downers Grove, IL - home of the one and only Tom "Sauce" Ebenhoe. We got to Tom's place eventually and it was fairly nice and we got nice "warm washcloth" (a term you'll be hearing a lot of later) hospitality with the showers. A little later in the day, Tom drove us to his girlfriend Megan's house. Now this was the best hospitality we received the whole trip. Meagan and her parents gave us a shitload of food to eat and Meagan even made Pistachio Pudding for Jake even though he jokingly requested it. After the meal, we walked to the bus station and proceeded to take the bus to Navy Pier. It was very surreal seeing all the huge buildings up close... its something I'm totally not used to. I've never been that close to tall buildings before so it was MAGICAL to say the least for me. Walking around downtown was pretty overwhelming. Navy Pier was pretty cool too, we rode the ferris wheel there so we could get a good glance of all the huge buildings from 150 feet up in the air. The giftshops at Navy Pier are seemingly endless. Its mostly junk, but its still cool to look at it all. After looking at useless shit in the giftshop we saw the fireworks outside Navy Pier... they were pretty cool, but I was kind of expecting something a lot more extreme I guess. Anyways, the highlight for me was on the ride home on the Metro. I was sitting next to Jake and he sees these two chinese kids right in front of us standing up with their mom. Jake goes "Hi Boys!" and they don't even look at him or react. He repeats "Hi Boys!" and stares... when they continue to ignore him, he taps a fisherman hat that one of the chinese boys is wearing. After this, the mom takes the two boys and they go and move. For some reason, this instance really tickled my humor fancy because honestly, what 17 year old male says "Hi Boys" to a couple of young lads? Jake Ebenhoe is that person. Well, we got home to Tom's later that night and then slept to Office Space.
We had to get up bright and early the next morning because it was GREAT AMERICA TYYYMEE. We ate at Subway in the morning and then we got to Six Flags at around 10. We were supposed to meet Ryan, Fiona, Kyle, and his friend there right away but they were late in typical RyGuy fashion. Six Flags was a freakin blast. At first I was reluctant to go on some rides. I wanted to start out on some pussy rides. But as soon as Ryan got there the magic convincing power of him came into effect. After I got done riding Raging Bull, I went on just about every single ride there. DejaVu is definitely the coolest one in my opinion. Paul Frank and Fiona stayed out of most of the rides, except for the one where he (Paul) pushed my shit in, but thats another story for another day... Overall, this was my favorite day of the trip. Cara agrees with me on that one too. After we were done eventually we started the trip to Indiana to visit Jake's friend Sammy. It was a loooong drive to get there, but Sammy was pretty cool. We drank the whole bottle of Bicardi O that we had and in my drunken state I got some embarassing secrets about Cara. Ha ha ha. Oh, and Sammy has the hugest dog I've ever seen in my entire life. It looks like a freakin horse. I was wondering if all dogs from Indiana were that large or if that was a "special case."
Sammy also had her grandparents over, who scared the shit out of me and Cara when they mysteriously woke us up from our respective living room couches and told us to move into the other room. In the morning I was super hungover but we took our showers and left right away. We ordered pizza at Pizza Hut, ate it, and then we headed to Milwaukee for Summerfest. Oh, before we went to Summerfest we stopped at Ashley Conard's house in Saukesville and we talked with her for awhile... well, more like terrorized her house. We got to Summerfest eventually and met up with Robbie and Jake's bitch friend Nicki. I talked to her online before hand and I thought she would be cool, but she wasn't at all. She looked like a trashy bitch, and requested that Jake sneak in alchohol for her. At first we attended a Jam Band who I can't recall that Robbie really got into..... everyone was smoking weed in the crowd, it was nuts. Eventually we left the Jam band and walked around for a bit. We saw a Jake LOOKALIKE. Seriously, he looked exactly like Jake but maybe 2 years younger. He had the blonde short fro, the same face, and he even held his cigarette the same. We eventually approached him and talked to him, but he was kind of an ass. Oh well, we still got a picture... kinda. Later on Jake and Paul and Cara and I got split up so Cara and I went to go see the Violent Femmes. They were pretty good. Although we were standing on top of a picnic bench and this fat drunk lady wouldn't stop dancing. She kept knocking Cara off and Cara was getting pissed. After we made fun of some emo kids, we went to Robbie's house and he made us not 1, not 2, but 3 frozen pizzas. My, what a guy. And then we watched some silly Upright Citizens Brigade and Strangers with Candy and went to bed.
In the morning, Robbie left early in an attempt to get Weezer tickets. Later we would find out he failed. But we were rushed to take our showers because his mom(who is very cool) had to leave for work. I forgot what we did throughout this day... I'm pretty sure a lot of nothing. Oh yes, we did go grocery shopping/car decorating/gas refilling for the night ahead. We got to Summerfest some time in the late afternoon and saw this one band that sounded like a cross between Blood Brothers and Incubus. After that we saw Scott squared and Aaron Chamberlain. It wasn't too far after that we saw Alex Drossart, Jack Hale, Alec Rudolph, Caity Kissner, and some other chick. This big collective group of ours walked around for awhile and after showing the Scotts where the Funnel Cake stand was, it was time for Weezer. I saw Maggie, Sean, Jenna, and Maggie's sister Ivy there and talked with them for awhile. Our seats were okay, could've been better. However, something funny that we developed really took off at the Marcus Amphetheatre. We would randomely shout at people who resembled people we knew or celebrities walking around and we would yell out their "names." For instance, everyone with dark rimmed glasses would get a "Hey Rivers! Rivers! Over here, Rivers!" from us or anyone who was hmong would get a "Lam, Lam! Hey Lam!" or "Hey Senga, Senga!" depending on if they were a smiley asian or a serious asian. The Pixies set was really long, but I was semi familiar with them so it was kind of cool. But the real wait was for Weezer. We smoked up a little bit before Weezer but we had to be careful because there was security guards everywhere. Apparently when I went to the restroom stall one of the guards questioned Jake, Cara, and Paul about it. But with the luck of the independent party member(Paul Frank) we escaped the situation. Weezer's set was really really cool, but of course as any Weezer fan would, I had a bunch of complaints about songs I wanted to hear which I didn't hear. After the show that night we went to Jake's campsite in some city that I don't even want to attempt to spell. We all got pretty wasted. It was a great time... except for the fact that Jake acted like the biggest faggot in the world, literally.
The next day I was in kind of a shitty mood at first, and it never really subsided. We all went swimming at Jakes campsite... well, "swimming" in my case. After that I got shit from Paul Frank and Jake the whole day about not bringing enough money on the trip. I was thankful to finally go home even though it was a really fun time. We ate at Applebees and I eventually got home that day around 6.
Yeah so I'm probably missing about a million key details, but oh well. Thats the jist of how it went.
Oh and another thing, I've gotten two separate people who don't know me in the past 3/4 weeks to tell me I look like this Josh Groban singer. Who the fuck is Josh Groban and is he a cutie bo beauty?
