Vaycay
In Chicago this week. it's nice to be "back home," and the weather is SO much nicer than Florida. We've been eating our way through our favorite restaurants, which is making Dad very happy. Today was Bohemian - that's our ethnicity, and Dad's been seriously missing good Bohemian food. Me, I guess I'm not a good Bohemian, because I'm not as over the moon about it myself. Still, it was good.
My genealogy searching has been frustrating. I thought it would be easy to find all these records once I was in the county where the people lived. Not so much. It's a pain in the ass, and aside from a few little bits of info, I haven't really gotten anything I wanted. Traffic here is terrible due to road construction, which hasn't helped the frustration levels any. And the ghost tour I wanted to take tomorrow night is sold out, so we can't do that now. All in all a mostly disappointing day. :(
This weekend we play tourist and go to the aquarium and Brookfield Zoo. My childhood zoo, I've missed it so much! I'm way too excited about that one. Also, Bohemian National Cemetery, to hopefully track down some ancestral graves. Another thing I'm excited about. I know, I'm weird.
Parents need my laptop now, so I'm being kicked off. Humph. That ended up as a kind of random update, but oh well. Maybe I'll get a more in depth one up later in the week.
