I think the secretary across the atrium is depressed.
Anyway, moving on...
Does anyone else feel slightly peeved at this whole hurricane Dennis thing? I mean, many areas hit yesterday weren't even repaired from Ivan, Frances and Charlie yet! Crazy! It's the first time in recorded history (1800's) that 4 major (Category 4) Atlantic storms have formed within 10 months. But...there's no such thing as Global Warming, right? Right. My ass.
I've been staying with my sister since Friday. We get along really well so it's pretty awesome. :-) She is by herself while her husband is in Iowa looking for work and needs help organizing stuff. He's had 3 interviews so we'll see. I'm just glad we can spend time together like this before she moves away.
I found a copy of Metropolitan Home (do they still make that?) from April 1991 in her bathroom. Like many glossy magazines, it had it's fair share of full-page ads. After 10 minutes or so I had to put it down because not one of the ads had a website address and it was DRIVING ME CRAZY. They had 800#s, little tear-off card thingies and other stuff, and most of those companies are still in business today and now HAVE URLs, but not in this magazine. It was making me NUTS. I never realized how much I depend on the Internet. I know I waste time ad infinitum on the web, but I never realized I was so...addicted.
Some of it may stem from the fact my sister canceled her DSL because her hubby took the computer. It made sense to cancel it since there wasn't a way to access it. I have my Lappy but it is without a connection. So, that coupled with this relatively recent magazine sans URLs and it made me nutty.
Wouldn't that make you nutty? Tell me it would so I don't think I have a problem.
I AM NOT ADDICTED TO THE INTERNET.
-P :-)
P.S. I'm excited to hang with my sister tonight. Hee hee.
