No Sleep Till Brooklyn

Nov 07, 2005 11:40

I'm definitely getting old, I am soooooo tired.

Two nights a row at the radio station until midnight, Friday I met Bill out at a bar after the radio station and didn't get to bed till after 4:30. Got up at 10:00 to drive to CT and hang with Jodie for the weekend because Kevin is out of town and she is lonely :) Josh had no plans so he hung out with us, and of course spent the night because I have absolutely no willpower. So much for the "just friends" thing, I dunno who I thought I was kidding, it's just too good to pass up -- and now there's really no reason to pass it up so whatever :P And ya know, I'm 30 years old, a girl has needs that must be met and he's a big boy, we both know what's going on here so again I say -- whatever. OK, end of justification, I feel better now :) We drank cheap wine and saw Stand at the Half Door. I was a little disappointed, they weren't really at their best which is upsetting since I haven't seen them in something like 6 months. Good news, they'll be back in Manhattan at the Mercury Lounge on November 25th, so hopefully that show will be better.

So yeah, maybe an hour of sleep at most Saturday night. Josh finally left around 13:00, Jodie and I farted around a bit then went out to Friendly's to get some greasy food. I hit the road around 17:00, stopped at A.C. Moore to get a big crochet hook for this hat and scarf I'm making for Cole for his 2nd birthday and headed home. When I got home I was exhausted, but if I went to sleep I wouldn't have slept through the night so I stayed up to watch the new episode of Rome. Only 3 more left???? Wahh!!!! Of course since I got the crochet hook I had to start the hat and once I got started I wanted to finish it so I ended up staying up until midnight :P Now I'm _really_ exhausted.

But... No sleep for the weary, tonight is Ben Folds at Radio City! Yay! I haven't seen Ben Folds in over a year so I'm really excited and Darren has never seen him live so this should be lots of fun.

Oh, one more thing. One of the best parts of volunteering at WFUV is the giant box o' CDs you get to pick through. I got a bunch of stuff including a Live Jason Mraz CD/DVD set. I usually try to pull at least one or two CDs that look interesting by people I've never heard of. This time I chose Inara George, mostly because her name is Inara (yay!) but also partly because the CD was really pretty. I'm so glad I picked it up, she reminds me a lot of Rachael Yamagata whom I love. If you have a chance, check her out.
