Childhood music I have stuck in my head (ripped off from workblog)

I started humming a really familiar song on Saturday.

And I couldn't figure it out at first.

It came to me suddenly, as I was riding a John Deere lawn mower, up and down my backyard, I just started humming this town.

(I would hum it for you now, but humming doesn't go over well in blog-form.)

And then the words started to pop into my head. And there were something about dinosaurs.

And then it hit me, well not the name of the song, but a branch on a tree.

But I did remember what the song was. When I was little I loved dinosaurs. I mean what kid didn't. I actually think I still do, deep within me there is a little kid who could stare forever at an animatronic T-Rex or a skeleton belonging to a Stegosaurus. I had tons of dino videos (not dvds) and toys. Good lord, the toys. I had inflatable dinosaurs. Plastic ones. Plush ones. Water squirter dinosaurs, even Grimlock and Slag, two members of the Dinobots, courtesy of the Transformers.

I also had a couple of cassette tapes (god, I'm feeling old because of this post) of Dinosogs.

One of them was DinoRock.

It was an audio story/musical about two kids who meet a yodeling archeologist and they sing songs about dinosaurs.

And they weren't half bad. I mean, afterall, twenty-one years later I'm still humming the songs.

Check out the tracks:
  1. Stella Stegosaurus
  2. Leapin' Lizards
  3. Tyrannosaurus Rex... Rex... Rex

And if those don't get stuck in your head....try this on for size.
