"For the love of God, Pedrioa, will you ground out!"

Apr 23, 2007 22:39

That was my inner monologue at 8:59 p.m. on Monday.

I was hoping the Red Sox would make a fast third out , with men on base and two outs and the count being full.

Normally Red Sox fans would be clutching or clapping their hands. Shouting out, "C'mon now Sox. Let's go now."

But not me, I was holding the remote control hoping Dustin Pedroia would ground out to the short-stop, which he eventually did, but noth before a five minute at bat.

Not that I wanted the Red Sox to lose, I just wanted to watch Heroes.

That's how much Heroes, has controlled my life, I'm not rooting for the Red Sox.

"But, why can't you just watch Heroes, the greatest show of this TV season on another TV?" you ask.

Well, you remember that four day storm, that took out power, cars, and roads throughout New England. It also severly damaged the our homes link to internet/cable. And well the net works fine (for now), the cable feed is less than desired.

Since the signal is so weak, because of the water damage, by the time it gets to the splitter in the basement, it loses power. So only one TV can get accurate cable, all the sub-standard wires throughout the house are left with nothing but fuzz.

That same information wire, also delivers our "On Demand" access, so I'm unable to watch last night's Sopranos, when we ran into the same problem, Sox v. Yanks v. premium cable show about mobsters.

So actually, I shouldn't blame Heroes for making me root for a rally-killing third out, I should be blaming April Nor'easters!

But Heroes was great...don't worry no spoilers. That's not how I roll.
