a girl and her pen

Most of you prolly don't know that I draw 'cause I never mention it, but I do :3 If infrequently... anyway I sketched these two ladies as an inspiration for a work of original (gasp!) fiction that I'm writing, it's just been started but I've actually got a pretty good plot this time so fingers crossed... The point is, I just started drawing and they appeared, and I'm so fond of them (the drawings :P) that I wanted to get them on the computer (somehow) and Photoshop-colour them ('cause I can!). Well, I finally got 'round the fact that I don't have a scanner (digital cameras ftw!) and here they are:

This is "Esther", who started out being royalty but was then demoted to a peasant girl (hence the dress). Chronologically, she was the first that I drew, seeing the importance of her being a central character to my book and all... I really wanted to get a feel for how she looked, and tried to describe her based off this. Since it's in b/w at the mo I suppose I can be forgiven for giving you her vital statistics: she's blonde with grey eyes.

I'm also extra-proud of the dress, that I designed myself :) Unfortunately it's probably an abhorration to physics, since I have no idea (nada!) how to draw folds... (hides in shame)

And slightly smaller (she's massive in rl), here's Giselle, who started off as, and ended up being, a noble lady. Her wealth is sort of a plot point. (I'm working on the chin.) Giselle's really interesting, but if I said any more I'd be ruining the plot... hehe. She has very dark hair and pale skin with blue eyes :) (a la Nimueh!)

Erm, it goes without saying that none of this is for the taking xD I'm going to start off with colouring them now. I just want a nice, pristine copy of them somewhere :P These are actually radically reduced, the originals are 1200px in height, which kinda explains the poor quality and crappy inking (well, the crappy inking was probably my fault xD). But yeah, not for people to use!
