So, ya Tuesday started the boys volleyball season at Red Mountain...They have an awesome team this year both Junior Varsity and Varsity. Tuesday the Junior Varsity team won (Mike is on it, and a couple of kids from Shepherd...Micah Farnsworth and Logan [I don't know his last name]...I tried to get like Joe Procopio and Greg Gutierrez to go out but it didn't work) so they won their first game...and Varsity played an awesome game but didn't win. Davie, Kelsey and Cory all came and watched with me too! I was soo happy that Davie was there. I ended up taking home his sunglasses cuz he had to leave early...BUMMER! Today (Thursday) we played Highland (the number 1 team) we were all pumped up and the Junior Varsity won the first game but then lost the next two. Then, Varsity went in there (you could tell some of them were intimidated) and did great...they had really good blocks but the ref called some bad calls. (I don't think he likes Red Mountain) Kyle Schaller was out cuz he hurt his ankle during practice and he is on crutches. So the rest of the boys pitched in...Anthony Yerardi "Little Italy" did awesome tonight...he encouraged the whole team to not give up. Jake Magruder (my brother) came in and served and never missed one serve...he played with a lot of enthusiasm...he also played back row and helped the team out a lot...when he wasn't in, he was on the sidelines cheering all the other guys on and not letting Highland get to them. We didn't end up winning but it was an awesome game! Highland had a HUGE team though...there weren't enough seats for all of them to sit on the sidelines...they had to sit in the bleachers (Junior Varsity and Varsity). It was terrifying. I sat with my mom, Sara (my sister), and Nan Zlotkowski (Mike's mom) and we were in the middle of all the Junior Varsity Highland players...so just to make them mad I would yell as loud as I could (which wasn't very loud seeing as my voice is completely worn out cuz I am sick) and they would yell back...every time we got a point I'd clap as loud as I could in their ears...the never even noticed. They yelled and screamed back though and starting jumping up and down which was driving me crazy but I kept my mouth shut. I hope our boys do better on their nexts games coming up.
So, ya...I'm sick and it all started Monday. I woke up and my throat really hurt, my nose was running (and yes...I caught it), and I had massive tummy and head aches. I didn't like it one bit...I still went to school though. Same with Tuesday only I started coughing. On Wednesday morning, my voice was completely gone. I sounded terrible (in the mean time...since the beginning of the week me and the other "Fairies" for "Midsummer Night's Dream" are learning our lullaby that we have to sing...I don't sound too good...and I am the only fairy who knows how to sing, it is not good at all!) Tony didn't make me sing for Narrow Minded (our praise band). Today, I woke up and my left ear was killing me!!! I went downstairs and told my mom and she told me to put cotton in it and go lay back down and that she'd make me a doctor's appointment because it hurt sooo bad I was crying. I got to school and by second hour it stopped hurting for the most part but there was a really loud whistling noise in my right ear every time I'd talk and my left ear was ringing all the time. My dad picked me up right after 5th hour started. And we headed down to Desert Sam. We got in to see the doctor and she told me I had an ear infection...a BIG one. GRRRRR...So my dad and I went home but I was pretty happy (besides the ringing in my ears) because I got out of school early! Yay!
My parents are going to Maui on Sunday and leaving Jake, me and Sara home. We are trying to find all of our rides and stuff but it is kinda difficult! We are soo abusy no one has time to take us to all the places we hafta go. So, we are kinda stuck in a ditch right now (figuratively speaking of course). My parents aren't coming back until Monday morning at 9 which is no good. So, I am gonna be all over the place this week trying to find rides and stuff...I think Mike's mom is actually picking Sara and I up so we can go to the Volleyball games Tuesday and Thursday. I'm excited and I want my parents to have fun...well I think this is long enough so I will end it now. Adios amigos! Love y'all...Maddy
